Which makes you think that this is one of the only events when good teams from various classifications can lay each other with no RPI riding on the win or loss.
6’6 W Bowen Hammer Bowen Hammer 6'8" | CG Fairmont Prep Academy | 2023 CA-S || Snow Canyon High School || 2023 ||
when you look at this SC team you see a lot of good players but the one X-Factor has to be Bowen. He has some great size and he has a good handle and he can bring it up and surprisingly enough he can break players off the dribble to create for himself. If he was playing for a top club team or even a 5A/6A team he would likely have more interest. When he is out on the wing he is a major threat to knockdown long balls and take it to the rim and finish with authority. Defensively he is fundamentally-sound, he stays on his feet and contest very well. If I were a D2 or even a NJCAA team I would go all in on him right now.
6’3 G Kaden Ericksen Kaden Ericksen 6'2" | CG Syracuse | 2023 State UT || Syracuse High School || 2023 ||
Not even looking at the box sheet and we like what we saw from Kaden. He moves well with the ball and without the ball. He is not forcing many shots and he moves the ball really well. Really liked him flashing to the basket and initiating the offense because he can turn and go but he can also free everyone else up with a catch. Athleticism is impressive and you can see that he is taking that AAU confidence and it is spilling over to high school ball.
6’0 PG Mekhi Martin Mekhi Martin 6'2" | PG Layton | 2024 State UT || Layton High School || 2024 ||
Mekhi showed a lot of effort and his driving and creating ability was on display as he finds ways to get multiple good looks for his teammates. Defensively he was using his strong frame to stop the drive. Overall great weekend for Mekhi as he was getting his guys great looks all weekend.
6’10 C Christian Henninger || Riverton High School || 2024 ||
Talk about a kid that is raw but has potential. Takes up a lot of space and he has a big body. Christian does a good job getting post position but he is still dominant going over his left should to favor his right hand. He sets good solid screens and could be a force with more development.
7’0 AJ LaBeau AJ LaBeau 7'0" | C Timberline | 2023 State ID || Timberline High School (ID) || 2023 ||
AJ does a good job getting position and although he might not have a lot of lift he is still 7’0 and he can turn and shoot over a lot of defenders. Uses the glass really well as it has turned into a lost art. Defensively he covers a lot fo ground with his height and reach. More agile than you might think for a big guy. He tracks rebounds down and is tough when he is near the rim. Could be a good find for a small school.
