Jakeel Registe Jakeel Registe 6'6" | SG Our Saviour Lutheran | 2024 NY 2024 6’5 Episcopal High School (Houston Hoops EYBL)
Jakeel was one of the most impressive guards in attendance with his ability to create separation with his handle, but also finish at the rim with his explosive athleticism. I loved watching him float toward the rim and change his shot angle to maneuver around his opponent in the paint. In the full court he is an absolute monster, constantly attacking defenders on the break and forcing them to make a decision. An aspect of his game that really stood out to me was his aggressiveness slashing and attacking the basket, but more importantly going after offensive rebounds. His consistency on the glass and his ability to finish tip ins allows him to get easy points in the paint. Registe finished tomahawk dunks and lobs that really got his team juiced and made everyone play harder off of his constant energy and aggression. He carries himself on the court as a hard working combo guard, and his explosive energy allows you to truly feel his presence as soon as you step into the gym. On the defensive end, he uses his frame and agility to not only stay in front of defenders but also poke the ball free. Time after time, he came up with steals by clamping up ball handlers on the sideline through full court pressure and allowing him to get easy points on the break (see video below, #2). His ability to truly do it all on both ends of the floor is incredibly impressive, and his willingness to defend positions 1-4 will make him a valuable prospect over the next two years. Registe is a prospect you MUST keep your eye on as he continues to develop over the next two years. I am expecting a massive junior campaign next year and I cannot wait to see what kind of waves he will make.

Kaiden Myers Kaiden Myers 6'3" | CG Allen | 2024 State TX 2024 6’2 Allen High School (Crab5 16U)
Kaiden is a silky smooth combo guard with an ability to score off the bounce from all three levels of the floor, but also create opportunities for his teammates. He is a smart passer both in the full court and the half court, creating opportunities with his vision and unselfish play. I was very impressed with his shooting prowess off the bounce, constantly taking what the defense gave him in the midrange and beyond the arc. If he gets a chance to catch and shoot, he is a consistent and knock down shooter from the corners and the wings. He looks like he is not done growing, with lanky arms that allow him to finish in the paint over anyone. He is a smooth attacker of the rim, slowing down and keeping his opponent on his back, and then quickly exploding around the big with a euro-step. Myers has a silky smooth offensive game that looks to be rapidly expanding alongside his bag.

Cameron Patterson Cameron Patterson 6'5" | SG Summer Creek | 2024 State #324 Nation TX 2024 6’4 Booker T Washington High School (ProSkills 16U EYBL)
Cameron is a high level combo guard with his ability to affect the game on the perimeter, dancing around his opponents with his handle but also slashing and cleaning up his opponents mistakes. He has an incredibly crafty handle which allows him to create separation from seemingly anyone on the court. In the open court, he is smart at using crossovers and his opponents momentum against them, stopping on a dime to find a pass to a cutting teammate, or quickly crossing back over to attack the rim. He is a very versatile prospect with his ability to slash, play on the interior and rebound, but also score in the midrange and beyond the arc. He makes his mark as a slasher, which opens up the rest of the court for him as the defense begins to sit back and try to take away driving angles. His frame seems to be constantly growing, both vertically but also with his strength. He has added a ton of weight since the last year, and looks to be using it fully to his advantage on the court.
Divine Ugochukwu Divine Ugochukwu 6'3" | CG Fort Bend Clements | 2024 State TX chukwu 2024 6’2 Fort Bend Clements High School (Houston Hoops EYBL)
Divine is an athletic combo guard who is fantastic at all three levels of the floor. He is a willing hunter of his midrange shot, and plays energetic and high level defense on the other end. He is a terrific scorer off the bounce and takes what the defense gives him every time down. He is an intelligent passer who loves setting up his teammates. He plays the game with a very positive energy which bleeds through into each of his teammates. He does all of the little things right on the court, such as spacing when running the fast break or hustling over to protect the backside of the defense after a skip pass. It was fun watching him run around and wreak havoc every time he was near the ball on the defensive end of the floor. What I love most about his game is his willingness to take over when his team is in trouble. They all know they can rely on him as a scorer in late game situations and his ability to get to his spots in the paint and the midrange allows him to hunt easy looks for himself all night.
Anthony Bates Jr. 2024 6’3 Katy Seven Lakes High School (Houston Hoops EYBL)
Anthony is a very intelligent player who can play the combo guard position at the highest level due to his ability to score but also set up opportunities for his teammates. He is a high-level finisher in the paint due to his ability to get around defenders with quick moves such as euro steps and double clutches. He has a great handle and ability to put the ball on the floor and get to his spots. He displayed a plethora of high level moves such as floaters and creative step backs. He is a very skilled shooter off the bounce from all three levels of the floor. Bates is also a very aware player who knows how to attack the weak spots in the defense. I was blown away by his maturity with the basketball and willingness to take what the defense gives him. When the defense looks to take him away, he calmly makes the right reads and make sure his teammates stay involved. He comfortably shot from all three levels of the floor and lived in the midrange. He is developing at a very rapid rate over the last year and a half, and I am excited to see how much he continues to grow.
Jared Harris Jared Harris 6'3" | SG Silsbee | 2024 State #63 Nation TX 2024 6’4 Silsbee High School (Houston Superstars)
Jared is a lanky combo guard with all of the tools and basketball IQ to become a dominant force on both ends of the floor. He seems to be still growing vertically and putting on noticeable muscle since the last time I saw him play in the State Semi-Finals Game for Silsbee. He has a consistent jumper and can space the floor from the perimeter. His ability to get his shot off the dribble was a valuable weapon, and can punish you from the midrange or beyond the arc. He showed a real ability to put the ball on the floor and attack the rim. He is a natural finisher in the paint who knows how to use all of his length to reach around his opponents and finish in the paint. He is a high level rebounder for his size and position on both ends of the floor, he makes the right outlet passes to jump start his team on the fast break and taps out rebounds to his shooters on the offensive end. He is willing to do all of the dirty work necessary for his team to have success.
