On Friday they locked horns with one of the top Class A teams in North Dakota with Davies. This was a matchup of great point guards. Anish Ramlall Anish Ramlall 6'2" | PG Rosemount | 2023 State MN 6’3 (2023) from Rosemount and Mason Klabo Mason Klabo 6'2" | PG Fargo Davies | 2025 State #240 Nation ND 6’1 (2025) from Davies. These two are both scholarship levels guys and they played like it on Friday morning. It was a great game to kick off Friday, it even went into OT! Read below for info on Ramlall, Klabo, and other standouts from Friday AM at NDSU.
Friday Fantastic
Anish Ramlall Anish Ramlall 6'2" | PG Rosemount | 2023 State MN (2023) |6’3 PG| Rosemount
He had a very nice morning. Ramlall hit multiple three-pointers in this contest. Anish can hit them off the dribble or catch. I really like his shooting form. As a long 6’3 guard, he does not need much room to get his shot off. When attacking off the bounce, Anish drilled many pull-up J’s with his beautiful pull-up. He is also a strong finisher that can score after contact and pick up an AND1. This stud PG was slashing and kicking to shooters and driving and dishing for open looks. His handles and court vision are top-notch. Anish is an excellent defender. Early in the game he picked the opposing guard’s pocket and went down for a breakaway layup. He moves his feet well and he talks his game. Ramlall is a nice athlete that showed off his vertical with a 2-handed slam dunk. The Irish have an all-around TOUGH and skilled PG!
Mason Klabo Mason Klabo 6'2" | PG Fargo Davies | 2025 State #240 Nation ND (2025) |6’1 PG| Fargo Davies
He was a standout on both days. On Friday, it was an 8:30 AM game and Mason was smart about getting to the line right away for some easy early points. Klabo definitely has a high hoops IQ and he is a fierce competitor. I love how he attacks his defender, he plays fearless, and he never backs down. His fake crossover and change of speeds are next-level. Mason brings the ball halfway across his body and snaps it back and then explodes past his defender. His 1-dribble pull-up looked great, per usual. Klabo was also impressive coming off down-screens/pindowns. He is so good at using screens, setting up his defender, being patient, and coming off ready to shoot. You do not see players use screens as Klabo does very often anymore. It is a lost art, and Mason is an offensive artist. His skill level is ridiculous for his young age. It goes without saying that Klabo has a bright future.
Jake Kraft Jake Kraft 6'0" | SG Shanley | 2026 State ND (2026) |5’10 PG| Shanley
He stood out Thursday and Friday as a shooter. The young Kraft shoots it very well from beyond the arc. I loved his confidence for such a young player. It did not matter if his defender was older, bigger, or taller. Kraft went after the D and if they were closing out on him, he still shot with certainty. Jake handled the pressure well with his slick ballhandling skills. He is a quick kid with a shiftiness that he uses to keep defenders off balance. Kraft also showed an honorable step-back move. Jake is talented and he is a player that you will want to keep your eyes on.
Jay Wanzek Jay Wanzek 6'7" | PF Shiloh Christian | 2023 State ND (2023) |6’6 PF| Shiloh Christian
The big Skyhawk was a stud on Thursday and he was after it again on Friday. He helped his team pick up a nice win over a salty Grafton Spoiler team. Jay was once again dominant on the boards, especially on the O-glass. This led to easy points for Wanzek. We know that Jay can shoot it, but on Friday he impressed me with his passing. He was driving and kicking to shooters like a guard. Wanzek looked very good off the bounce. Jay delivered many nice passes and he showed acute awareness. Beware of Wanzek, he is going to have a special senior season!
Wyatt Westin Wyatt Westin 6'2" | SG Shiloh Christian | 2025 State ND (2025) |6’0 G| Shiloh Christian
He stood out to me as a super-smooth player. Westin has all the fundamentals and tools that you would want out of a senior guard and he just finished his freshman year. His pull-up game is what is really impressive. Wyatt definitely passed the “eye test”. He can pull up on a dime quickly, shoot it with precise balance, and his form is next to perfection. Westin also showed off his range while knocking down 3’s. I really like his demeanor as well. Wyatt can put up points fast and furious. He is going to be a DUDE for Shiloh and he will only be a sophomore this coming school year.
Caden Englund Caden Englund 6'2" | CG Shiloh Christian | 2025 State ND (2025) |6’0 G| Shiloh Christian
He played well on Thursday and Englund did it again on Friday. He stuck out because of his strength when finishing an AND1 bucket. I like his handles and Caden always seems to be in “attack mode”. He knows when to kick the ball up ahead in transition and he knows when to slow things down and wait for positive numbers. I see him as the next PG for Shiloh and they will be a tough Class B team next season. His slashing, scoring, and facilitating will be huge for Shiloh next year. Caden will also do the little things to help his squad pick up the win.
Braylon Baldwin Braylon Baldwin 5'11" | PG Grafton | 2024 State ND (2024) |5’10 PG| Grafton
This cool customer stood out with a perfect pull-up jumper. Baldwin also made some sneaky steals. He is a clever and smart floor general. Braylon can really shoot it! He drains jumper from short, mid, and deep. I thought Baldwin was excellent at manipulating the tempo and he knew when to slow things up and when to push hard. Braylon looks like a creator, facilitator, and playmaker. He will without a doubt be one of the best PG’s in Region 2 next season.
Juan Villarreal Juan Villarreal 6'0" | SG Grafton | 2024 State ND (2024) |6’0 SG| Grafton
This Spoiler stood out as a rockstar shooter. Every time I looked at his court, Juan was knocking down a triple. He was hot from the top of the key. Villarreal nailed them off the dribble and when spacing-n-shooting. His jumper is silky smooth. When the defense closed out too hard, Juan would attack and kick to shooters. He also showed great hustling when grabbing an O-board and scoring with a putback. Villarreal is a strong athlete that moves well and elevates quickly. Juan can put up big points in a hurry. He is going to be a beast in Region-2 next season. Villarreal and Baldwin are a scary 1-2 punch!
