There are weekly leagues, college team camps, showcases, and much more happening in states all around the country. However, as we churn out content from high school events around the state of Indiana, we also want to continue to give shine to the Prep Hoops Circuit Grit Region participants.
Austin Cripe Austin Cripe 6'3" | SG West Noble | 2023 State IN (West Noble H.S. 2023/5Star 2023): An athletic wing with a knack for scoring the basketball, Cripe put together a great spring on the Prep Hoops Grit Region Circuit. He is at his best when attacking closeouts and driving from the perimeter, but has shown continued improvements to his catch-and-shoot ability. Cripe is 6’3″ with plus length and finishes above the defense at the end of his drives. Currently holds an offer from Goshen with plenty of additional interest.
Davion Goins (Ross Beauty Cassopolis H.S. 2023/5Star 2023): There aren’t many forwards on the Prep Hoops Grit Region with the raw athleticism of Goins. At 6’5″ with long arms and a strong frame he has the physical attributes to finish around the basket while also showcasing some abilities to drive it against bigger defenders on the perimeter. Very good rebounder and a versatile defender. Has visited and been offered by DIII Manchester.
Zachary Kroetsch Zachary Kroetsch 6'2" | PG Croswell-Lexington | 2023 State MI (Croswell-Lexington H.S. 2023/Michigan Cagers 2023): A 6’2″ guard with a great shooting stroke, Kroetsch has played a big role in the backcourt for the Michigan Cagers through the spring circuit in the Grit Region. He will be a solid small college recruit with his shot-making ability off of the dribble and deep range beyond the arc. Has developed a great one-two punch with teammate Hutch Ward Hutch Ward 6'8" | PF Kalamazoo Central | 2023 State MI who we have also written about plenty lately.
Mark Nikolich-Wilson Mark Nikolich-Wilson 6'7" | C Rolling Meadows | 2023 State IL (Rolling Meadows H.S. 2023/Full Package Black): Nikolich-Wilson is one of the most unique prospects in the Grit Region. He is a 6’7″ big man with an interesting combination of guard like skill on the perimeter when it comes to passing the basketball. Prep Hoops own Scotty Burgess loves to make the “baby Cam Krutwig” comparisons and those do fit to an extent. He is more agile than you think, handles the ball well, and can pick apart a defense with his passing. Can score inside with his size as well.
Devon Woods Devon Woods 5'10" | PG Pike | 2023 State IN (Pike H.S. 2023/EG10 2023): Woods is a smaller point guard but his dynamic playmaking abilities off of the dribble will absolutely translate to the next level. He has had a successful career thus far at Pike High School and was very good through the spring with EG10. Really tough kid that brings it on both ends of the floor.
