The four week session features Churchill, Sheldon, Willamette, North Eugene, Springfield, South Eugene, Thurston, and Marist Catholic. This week we were able to see South Eugene, Willamette, Springfield, Churchill, and Sheldon. Here are the standouts from week 3:

Churchill | 2023

(Churchill 2023)
The veteran guard showed again why he is one of the most feared defenders in the the Midwestern League. His lock down defense set the tone for Churchill’s week 3 back to back to back games. He is very quick laterally and leads the defense with a gritty edge seldom seen at the high school level. One the offensive end, he has superb court vision and can get to the rim with elite change of pace. His best finish was a right to left Stockton finish on the left side with his right hand.
Luke Leighton Luke Leighton 6'5" | SF Sheldon | 2023 State OR (Sheldon 2023)
Leighton is a college coaches dream with his length, athleticism, and coachability. The greatest asset he brings to the Sheldon squad is his motor. Leighton is constantly moving and making physical contact on block outs and screens. He also demonstrated a solid rip through to a quick first step. On the glass, he is always a presence. Defensively, he provides a versatile on ball defender who can guard 1-5. He holds multiple football offers.
Solomon Nice Solomon Nice 6'5" | SF South Eugene | 2023 State OR (South Eugene 2023)
Nice is arguably the top player in the south Willamette valley. The 6’5″ wing was the engine of the Axe offense and he often brought the ball up the floor. Getting to his spots was easy for Nice as he was able to get wide open midrange jumpers throughout the afternoon. He has fluid hips and is able to change directions with ease on offense and defense. Keep an eye on this prospect as we suspect his stock will rise through the month of July. Nice will be playing on the summer circuit with Oregon Prospects.
Mike Small

(Willamette 2023)
For the third week in a row, Small showed the ability to bulyl ball his way to the rim. His physical style and quick feet equal a devastating down hill driving style. He has shown a penchant for finishing through traffic at the rim. Defensively, he is very active on ball and does an excellent job of helping and recovering.
Eugene/Springfield summer league concludes next week on June 29th.
