Sanders will be a common name throughout Colorado due to his ability to get downhill and emphasis on pushing the pace. The game really does come easy to Sanders, standing at 6’1, he has been emphatic running the point for Cherokee Trail. Arguably his largest swing skill will be playmaking, luckily the lefty guard showed confidence creating out of the pick and roll versus some large opponents. Continuing to work on changing gears coming out of screens or dribble moves should add another dimension to his offensive package. On the other end, Sanders has been excellent hounding opposing ballhandlers and aggressively trapping opponents on doubles. He has fully committed himself to being an effective point of attack defender, however his off-ball awareness will still need more improvement.
Tanner Braketa Tanner Braketa 6'1" | PG Ralston Valley | 2025 State #285 Nation CO – Ralston Valley
Braketa was nearly unstoppable for periods of the weekend, in one instance scoring 13+ points, most of which were unassisted. Standing 6’ tall, the combo guard has some of the best footwork, balance, and stone cold confidence among guards in the state. Simply put, Braketa is a bucket in a variety of ways. While he has proven to be an elite shooter, I would like to see him continue to emphasize his creativity scoring around the rim, as this would add another layer to his deep bag. Like LaDavian King LaDavian King 6'1" | CG Eaglecrest | 2025 State CO , Braketa can create jumpers going either direction in a variety of ways. He is capable stepping into a pullup, reeling back into a step-back, or playing it simple with a pound dribble into the jumper. Braketa has some of the best footwork of any player in the state, regardless of class. When combining that with his elite ballhandling ability and reaction speed, Braketa will be an offensive force for years to come.
Carson Flowers Carson Flowers 6'3" | CG Legend | 2025 State CO – Legend
Flowers has been a steady offensive presence for Legend, capable of being deployed either on or off-ball. Standing roughly 6’ tall, Flowers was consistent hitting three pointers and mid-range jumpers off the catch, either coming off movement or from a efficient dribble move. The guard did a lot with a little, rarely stagnating the offense and continuing to stay within the overall team flow. Flowers proved his aggression and strength against taller opponents, grabbing offensive rebounds through traffic on multiple occassions. The combo guard was certainly one of the better shotmakers off of movement, largely due to his excellent footwork. Continuing to get more comfortable creating out of the pick and roll will be essential for Flowers down the line.
Dominic Martinez – South
Coming off of a notable freshman season, leading 5A in steals per game, Martinez is a high IQ point who plays with the necessary patience and composure needed from your lead guard. Martinez plays with a level of maturity rarely found among athletes his age, serving as the dependable floor general capable creating passing lanes out of the pick and roll. Defensively, Martinez is so consistent due to his long arms and sturdy frame, where he is capable matching up with stronger guards. Of any of these guards, he likely has the best hands and hand eye coordination regarding defense, given his quick reactions and anticipatory skills.
