This showcase is absolutely loaded with the best teams and prospects that the state of Indiana has to offer. Also, with it being a live recruiting period, college coaches will be out in full force taking in the action. Our Prep Hoops Indiana staff will have boots on the ground at both locations this weekend and will be bringing preview content heading into Friday evening. In this edition we will take a look at eight prospects who could really help their recruitment by playing well at the Charlie Hughes Showcase.
A.J. Dunn A.J. Dunn 6'1" | SG Yorktown | 2023 State IN (Yorktown H.S. 2023): A 6’2″ guard, Dunn really shot the ball well through the spring and is definitely one for small college coaches to evaluate this weekend. Yorktown, who made a surprise run to the Class 3A Regional Championship game, will play their games at Carmel on Saturday and Westfield on Sunday. Dunn was their leading scorer as a junior averaging 13.2 points per game. Played AAU with JH1 IndyElite.
Sincere Germany Sincere Germany 6'2" | SG Cathedral | 2023 State IN (Cathedral H.S. 2023): Germany is a thin left-handed guard that can really shoot the basketball from beyond the arc. He has already stepped into a larger role this spring for Cathedral and is proving to be ready for that expansion. Moves well off of the ball, can drive it in a straight line, and has the catch-and-shoot ability to be a nice prospect.
Jaylen Mullen Jaylen Mullen 6'0" | PG North Daviess | 2023 State IN (North Daviess H.S. 2023): After winning the Class 1A State Championship as a junior, Mullen will make the jump to playing in the Class 3A tournament this season. He has been solid playing against strong national competition on the UAA Circuit with Grand Park Premier and should have several colleges following him this weekend. Really good shot maker that handles it well against size and athleticism.
Nick Richart Nick Richart 6'9" | PF Zionsville | 2023 State IN (Zionsville H.S. 2023): The 6’9″ Richart recently received his first Division I offer from Illinois State and should be evaluated a bunch of low and mid-major college coaches this weekend. He has soft hands and good feet around the basket, the size to play physically on the block, and nice post moves over his right shoulder. One of the best big men in Indiana’s Class of 2023.
Alex Romack Alex Romack 6'6" | PF Westfield | 2023 State IN (Westfield H.S. 2023): Romack is a versatile 6’5″-6’6″ forward with good mobility at his position. He attacks the glass hard with two hands on both ends of the floor, can finish with both hands around the basket, and can attack closeouts off the bounce against bigger defenders. Definitely shows the potential to have good post moves with his footwork and strength. Could really turn some heads taking on a bigger role at Westfield.
Kamari Slaughter Kamari Slaughter 6'2" | SG Cathedral | 2023 State IN (Portage H.S. 2023): Slaughter really started to gain some interest from schools at just about every level through the spring. He attacks the basket very well off of the dribble, is very strong for his position, and is an underrated playmaker for his teammates. Impressive two-way prospect.
Reph Stevenson Reph Stevenson 6'7" | PF Hamilton Southeastern | 2023 State IN (Hamilton Southeastern H.S. 2023): I’ve been really high on this 6’7″ forward for awhile now. Stevenson has tremendous upside as a finisher inside, rim protector, and high-motor big man. He has really gotten more polished around the basket. He’s always been mobile with good footwork, but his hands are strong now and he can score in a variety of ways from 15-feet and in. Has impressed me with his straight line driving ability against other forwards.
Jordan Woods Jordan Woods 6'2" | PG Hammond Central | 2023 State IN (Hammond Central H.S. 2023): Woods is an athletic, long guard that is a very good playmaker off of the dribble. He is quick in the open floor, a great passer, and can get into the paint in the half court consistently. Good finisher at the end of his drives around the rim. Has the size and length to guard multiple positions on the perimeter. Intriguing upside.
