Many of these players through unofficial visits, contact through high school and grassroots coaches were already being recruited and in some case offered. But on midnight at Wednesday the floodgates opened, and throughout the first 24 hours of contact, many of Oklahoma’s top Class of 2024 prospects received texts and calls from college programs all over the country.
Here’s a run down on players receiving interest.
David Castillo David Castillo 6'1" | PG Sunrise Christian Academy (KS) | 2024 #80 Nation KS , 6’2 Combo Guard, Bartlesville
As befitting his high national ranking Castillo already had offers from programs all over the country. In state programs Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and Tulsa of course checked in. While the national flavor to his recruitment was shown with contact by Arkansas, Arizona, BYU, Gonzaga, LSU Kansas, Kansas State and SMU. The interest from LSU would eventually turn into an offer from the SEC program, as the Bartlesville Bruin now has well over double digit offers from Division One programs.
TO Barrett TO Barrett 6'4" | SG Link Academy | 2024 #138 Nation MO , 6’4 Combo Guard, Edmond North
The fast rising recruit when it comes to momentum with college coaches is the Edmond North lead guard. It should come to no surprise to anyone that paid attention during the Huskies’ run to the Class 6A State Championship that Barrett would soon become a popular name with college coaches. His combination of size, athleticism, grit and high ceiling are all traits that coaches at the next level love. After being offered by the University of Tulsa on Monday evening, he followed it up with an Oklahoma State offer on Wednesday. Barrett will now go from the underdog, to the hunted in games as players around the state will want to test their mettle against a potential Power 5 player. It will be interesting to watch how Barrett handles the increased spotlight.
Chiante Tramble Chiante Tramble 6'2" | PG Edmond North | 2024 State OK , 6’2 Point Guard, Moore
The cerebral lead guard is garnering college interest after a spring on the UA Circuit with Texas Impact 4:13’s 16U program. Tramble had coaches from South Dakota and Bryant University reach out early in the day. While also earning interest from the University of Tulsa after attending their prospect Elite Camp over the weekend. Then he closed out the day by receiving an offer from the east coast Bulldogs, of Bryant University.
Dayton Forsythe Dayton Forsythe 6'3" | PG Dale | 2024 State #206 Nation OK , 6’2 Guard, Dale
Portland, who had already offered earlier this spring, was among the programs to check in on the small town floor general. In state programs Tulsa and Oral Roberts also reached out, to go along with national programs Liberty and Birmingham Young University. Many Oklahoma small college programs have offered the Dale star. But he’s continuing to generate Division One interest as his plays continues to improve on the Nike EYB’s 16U circuit. Cal Poly is another program keeping close tabs on Forsythe.
Dylan Warlick Dylan Warlick 6'6" | SF Edmond North | 2024 State #226 Nation OK , 6’6 Wing-Forward, Edmond North
One of the most productive players in the state this past year, the walking double-double has been contacted by Oral Roberts, University of Texas San Antonio, Radford and Belmont. Along with Forsythe he too has received heavy interest from Cal Poly. It’s a bit shocking at this point that he doesn’t have an offer yet. Yes, there are aspects of Warlick’s that are unorthodox as he transitions from a post player to more of a perimeter player. But the production in Oklahoma’s highest classification and against national competition on the EYB circuit have proven that Warlick has D1 ability.
Ethan Wilkerson Ethan Wilkerson 6'7" | PF Madill | 2024 State OK , 6’8 Forward, Silo
Wilkinson had a strong sophomore campaign for the 2A semifinalist and has played this spring with the Dallas based Pro Skills. The southern Oklahoma product has been offered by in state Division 2 programs, Northeastern State and East Central. But also received a phone call from Division One program Oral Roberts on Wednesday.
Isaiah McLemore, 6’4 Wing, Owasso
A shooter with good size to develop into a potential 3 and D type wing, heard from Howard, a HCBU based in our nation’s capital. After that he picked interest from University of California San Diego.

3 Players That Should be Next for “D1″ Coaches”
Chris Mason Chris Mason 6'6" | PF Victory Christian | 2024 State OK , 6’7 Forward, Union
One of the elite prospects in the class, Mason is a physically gifted combo forward. He leans more toward the power side with a strong build and a big wing span. But has shown in the past he has the athletic ability and at times shooting touch to be more of a perimeter player. Mason certainly passes the eye test when on the court thanks to those natural gifts, often punctuated with rim rattling slams. Now with the same UA program (Texas Impact 4:13) as the previously mentioned Tramble, Mason needs to approach the July Live period with hunger and high motor play. If he does that, he’ll he be flying up the recruiting boards of D1 programs across the region.
Ja’Mon Valentine Ja’Mon Valentine 6'2" | CG Choctaw | 2024 State OK , 6’3 Guard, Choctaw
Now playing with the 17U UA Rise Tulsa Hawks, the scoring specialist from Choctaw is another player with clear D1 potential. Especially with his ability to shoot off the dribble from beyond the arc. When checking in with Valentine yesterday, he had yet to receive any contact from college coaches. Hopefully that has changed. Still, a July playing up a grade on the UA Rise circuit should help not only his development but his recruitment as well.
Luke Gray Luke Gray 6'7" | PF Oklahoma Christian | 2024 State OK , 6’7 Forward, Oklahoma Christian
Yesterday Gray was offered by East Central University in Ada which joins Central Oklahoma as the powerful forward’s first two scholarship offers. They certainly won’t be the last for Gray, as he has clear Division One upside with his combination size, athleticism and improving three point touch. He’s another prospect that is playing up an age group this spring, with Buddy Buckets. A program that often plays an aggressive schedule for an independent program and has a recent history of producing Division One players.
