Kaleb Taylor 2022 6’10 Universal Academy, Dallas (Team Grrr)
Kaleb is a special forward who is already a natural finisher down low, with great strength and a solid array of post moves. He is a ferocious center with a real ability to finish in traffic. You can tell Taylor has spent his fair share of time in the weight room with how easily he finishes in the paint. He fought through contact, even in AAU rules where fouls are rarely called, Kaleb showed an ability to power through anything. I would like to see him work on his ability to move his feet, both in the open court with a live dribble and laterally. He showed an ability to rim run, and finish when not asked to take too many dribbles. With Taylor’s size and strength, if you are a college coach still in need of a true center, look no further!
Teunshe Cole 2022 6’7 WT White High School (Team Grrr)
Teunshe is an intriguing forward prospects with how well he handles the ball to get into the paint. I was very impressed by his natural ability to dribble out of trouble, even when the defense sends two at him at the high post. He took intelligent power dribbles to get himself out of trouble and showed an ability to play alongside another big and play the three or the four if necessary. He willingly distributed the basketball to open teammates when necessary. Cole’s ability to get into the teeth of the paint and also finish at the rim was very special, but where he really made adifference was his ability to rebound the ball at a high level. I would like to see him focus on his ability to confidently shoot off the dribble but also catch and shoot from the top of the key and as a trailer option. His long arms allow him to have a high release point, but I would like to see more consistency.
Croix Cole 2023 6’9 Universal Academy, Dallas (Team Grrr)
Croix is another intriguing prospect with his special blend of size and how well he moves his feet. I was very impressed with how well he was able to maneuver up and down the court, with and without a live dribble. He loves running the floor as an easy option in the paint, but also chasing down his opponents on the fast break to smack their shot off the backboard. Croix showed an ability to handle the ball in the open court to attack any defender in the paint, or force the last two defenders to make a decision. I would like to see him work on scoring with more consistency from the second and third level of the of the defense, especially off the bounce. He has all the physical tools to be a mid major prospect, but will need to refine his skill and game a bit more to get there. He is not far, and has a bunch of tantalizing playmaking attributes that make him a must see prospect.
Jarin Hall 2024 6’2 Harlan High School (HD Toros Elite)
Jarin is the ideal combo guard that coaches would love to get their hands on with his ability to score off the catch from the corners and wings, but also his ability to put the ball on the floor and hunt for his shot. I was very impressed by the ease in which the game seemed to come to him, scoring effortlessly from beyond the arc and in the mid-range. He is a natural scorer off the catch, making him a valuable weapon for any team. His ability to consistently space the floor and knock down shots will make himself an asset at the next level as well. He punishes the defense for relaxed closeouts with his quick shooting motion, but is also unafraid to put the ball on the floor and attack the rim if they close out too hard. Hall has been in the lab with John Lucas and his AAU team, usually something that is not unnoticed among college coaches. His skill is rapidly developing, especially with how well he gets into his shooting motion off the live dribble.
