The Hustle Region Circuit consists of AAU Programs from California, Oregon, Washington, Arizona, Utah, Montana, Idaho, Colorado, and New Mexico. The circuit features 10 stops including the Hustle Region Final in Irvine July 15th – 17th. For stop number 8 the circuit returns to Phoenix with the Brawl For The Ball. With it being this deep into the season, I’ve had an opportunity to see a ton of players. Here’s a look at some of the players to watch in Phoenix.
Myles Reed Anderson Myles Reed Anderson 6'8" | C Castle View | 2023 CO 6’7 PF Colorado Premiere 2023 – Saw a lot of Anderson in Denver, and I’m really excited to see how he’s improved. He didn’t really pop to me until his last game of the event, however, he was consistent with his defense and rebounding. He’s a fluid rim runner with long arms, I’m watching to see if he can score by catching and finishing rim runs, or with his back to the basket.
Xavier Ogle 5’9 PG D1 Southern California 2023 – Ogle was very good in the first half of the circuit season. His ability to score and playmaking ability made him one of the revelations of the HRC. I’m looking for continued consistency from the PG. If he continues with his strong play and can help D1 to a few victories, look for him to be another All-Tournament Team candidate.
Prashant Chouhan Prashant Chouhan 6'6" | PF Menaul | 2023 State NM 6’5 PF D1 New Mexico 2023 – I saw glimpses of Chopra last time I was in Phoenix. His play in Phoenix kills two Birds as it will be good to lay eyes on him to evaluate him as a prospect of some level, as well as where he fits when the new rankings are released.
Jacob Barker Jacob Barker 6'11" | C Resurrection Christian | 2024 State CO 6’8 PF Colorado Premiere 2024 – Last time I saw Barker, he was swatting away any and everything close to the rim. Quite simply, I’m looking for a repeat performance. It would be nice to say that I’m interested in his offensive and rebounding skills, however, if he blocks shots at the level he did when I saw him in Denver then he’s in the category of top rim protectors I’ve seen.
Bradey Henige Bradey Henige 7'0" | C Cactus | 2024 State #192 Nation AZ 6’11 C D1 Tuscon 2024 – Henige will be one of the main players I’m looking to put eyes on this week. I just saw him at section 7 and he impressed me with the additions to his game. The lefty has good hands and is one of the better moving centers I’ve seen. Henige has a remarkable knack for being able to get off the ground quickly with not only his first but his second jump as well. He’ll be a guy that a lot of college coaches will want to keep an eye on.
Ryan Dixon Ryan Dixon 6'5" | PF Valor Christian | 2024 State CO 6’6 PF Team Revenge 2024 – It was in California where Dixon really caught my eye. He’s one of those good at every type players. Dixon is a decent athlete, he can stretch the floor out to about 15 feet and he rebounds and scores around the rim. All of these skills are wrapped around a legit 6’6 frame.
Xavier Cox 6’0 SG IE FIre Elite 2025 – The Fire have had a ton of guys on fire this circuit season, however, I’m going to go with Xavier Cox on this one. The sharpshooter is coming of an insane performance where he hit 10 threes in his last Circuit contest. If he does anything close to a repeat of that performance, then look out. In addition to his individual performance, looking to see if he can keep the red hot Fire rolling.
Lenny Washington Lenny Washington 6'4" | SG Organ Mountain | 2025 State NM 6’5 SF D1 New Mexico 2025 (featured image) – Washington is a player that is starting to look like a clear stockriser. The athletic wing has shown that he can score the ball from a variety of levels, and his length and athleticism provide him with versatility on the defensive end as well. He’ll be a player that I’m keeping an eye on to evaluate just where he fits in in the 2025 rankings.
Zane Gaul Zane Gaul 6'10" | C Prescott | 2025 State AZ 6’10 C D1 New Mexico 2025 – Gaul is a player who improved a little bit each time I saw him. Now after a month away, I’m looking to see how true he stays to that trend. He has been working on being more patient when he catches around the rim and I believe that has helped him finish at a higher percentage.
