Here are six prospects that stood out.
Billy Richmond III, Memphis East: The 6-foot-6 guard displayed his long range shooting in a win over a talented Knoxville Fulton squad. Richmond made the Mustangs’ opponent suffer by making shots from 3-point range. The rising junior also showcased his ability to push the basketball in transition and ability to finish at the rim through contact.
Jamarion Harvey, Memphis East: Since his freshman season, Harvey has been able to score at will. Against the Knoxville Fulton Falcons, Harvey made shots in transition and in the half-court. The rising senior is a better fit off the ball as he looks to take his defender off the dribble, an area in his game that’s very strong.
Dexter Lewis, Knoxville Fulton: Lewis was one of the best shooters on the floor this past weekend. Lewis kept the Falcons competitive against the Memphis East Mustangs, thanks to ability to make shots from the perimeter. Lewis has a nice shot release, and he’s a tough guard. He plays with an edge.
Nehemiah Holmes, Franklin Road Academy: Holmes is a solid 6-6 wing. He plays the small forward position well. Holmes runs the floor well in transition, can make shots from the perimeter, and can take his defender off the dribble. The rising senior is active on the glass and does a solid job of contesting shots at the rim.
Andre McClellan, Columbia Academy: McClellan does a lot of good things for the Bulldogs. The rising junior guard does a great job of seeing the floor. McClellan knows when to get off the basketball. He doesn’t overthink on offense. McClellan can make shots from the perimeter. On defense, he’s active and loves to go after 50-50 balls.
Azavier Zanders, Cordova: Zanders is currently flying under the radar in the 2024 class, but the 2022 season could be the time more people notice the 6-0 guard. Zanders has all of the tools to be a solid player in his class. The rising junior has solid ball handles, can make shots from the perimeter, and push the basketball in transition. Zanders showed what he could be in a three-day span.
