Many from the 2024 and 2025 classes took the opportunity to play against the most well-known players in the state and put themselves on the radar. Here’s a handful of younger guys showing up and showing out.
Harry Davies 6’2 | SG | North Kitsap 2024
3 Pt Shooting, On-Ball Defense, Crashes Boards
Davies is only 6’2 but he’s long and wiry and possesses good strength and leaping ability that makes him a bigger threat on the boards than he might appear. He was consistently attacking the glass, taking advantage of open lanes, and getting good reads off the rim. He’s got the quick second jump and smooth hands to get put-backs and second-chance buckets. Harry also has some smoothness to his game outside, burying more than a few long-range shots and proving he’s not someone you want to leave open. He is one of the better three-and-D players in his class and provides good energy from the wing.
Leyton Martin 5’10 | PG | Arlington 2025
High Energy, Pick Pocket, High Awareness
Leyton is fun to watch. He’s got the instincts and feel to be a special player as long as he keeps putting in the work. He’s got the motor to run around all over the court but also the awareness to make savvy plays, making a lot out of a little. He puts those characteristics on display in his on-ball defense, looking for openings and reading ball-handlers intentions. He’s already making an impact but when he develops more physically, he’ll be someone to really look out for.
Grant Lanier 6’0 | CG | Eastside Catholic 2025
Fighter, Crafty, Strong Drives
I watched Lanier in the first game of the day, where he was the only 2025 to play. I was impressed by his fight. He was undersized compared to the older players and there were numerous times they took him to the post and tried to out-muscle him. Lanier didn’t back down, got great leverage, and kept them where they were. On the flip side, he demonstrated good dribbling and some crafty finishing at the rim with some stop-and-go moves. He’s an aggressive player on both sides and isn’t phased by any opponent.
Alex Elston Alex Elston 6'1" | PG Eastside Catholic | 2025 State WA 5’9 | PG | Eastside Catholic 2025
Pace, Court Vision, Handle
Elston is one guy I’d seen a few times in person before this weekend. He’s another high-energy player who brings the heat with on-ball defense and controls the pace on offense. His handle is tight, and he’s so quick it’s almost like he’s bouncing around out there. But this weekend he showed off an improved view of the court, sending skips to open shooters, running through options off screens, and playing overall heads up ball. He’s got great change of direction in small spaces and is a lot tougher than you might assume.
