Many players were added to the rankings who show massive potential, and this article will break down the top 5 players who are newly added to the rankings.
Luke Skaljac Luke Skaljac 6'2" | PG Brecksville-Broadview Hts | 2024 State #162 Nation OH , 6’2 PG Brecksville-Broadview Heights 2024: Skaljac was unbelievable in the only game I caught of him during the high school season, giving St Edward 31 points in their own gym to become the first northeast Ohio public school to win in the Eagles nest for around a decade. Skaljac plays with great pace and is an elite off the bounce shooter. I love the way he controls the tempo and plays at his own pace. Skaljac is one of the most polished and skilled guards in Ohio’s 2024 class and is playing up this summer with TNBA -Ohio’s 17 U squad. Expect Skaljac to be a hot commodity among low to mid major programs sooner rather than later.
Ja’Corey Lipkins Ja’Corey Lipkins 6'1" | CG GlenOak | 2024 State OH , 6’1 CG GlenOak 2024: Lipkins is one of the youngest prospects in Ohio’s 2024 class, younger than most of the 2025 prospects you’ll find too. Lipkins got his first taste of varsity action this winter and had some growing pains, but the talent is obvious. Lipkins has an unreal first step and can really create for himself. Lipkins looked even more athletic playing for Wildcats Select this spring on the Adidas 3SSB circuit. I’m very high on the long-term upside for Lipkins as he’s a bit under the radar compared to other prospects around his talent level around the state. If you don’t have Lipkins on your radar, get to know him if you are a low to mid major program. Lipkins currently holds one reported offer from Youngstown State University.
Duncan Moy Duncan Moy 6'4" | SG Joseph Badger | 2024 State OH , 6’4 SF Badger 2024: Moy is another prospect that not many people know about, especially because the Youngstown area hasn’t had the talent in recent years that they did in the early 2010’s. Moy is a talented wing who can handle the basketball and is a capable finisher with both hands around the basket. Moy’s best skill is his passing ability from the wing position. I’m very interested to see more of Moy in the future because my initial impressions were very high of his. Moy played his sophomore season at Warren G Harding but is moving back to his home school of Badger for his Junior season.
Ian Ioppolo Ian Ioppolo 6'6" | PF Mentor | 2024 State OH , 6’6 PF Mentor 2024: Ioppolo has a very simple translation to the next level as a stretch-4 and colleges will get to see him for Indy Heat on the EYBL circuit and see what he can bring right away to their program. Ioppolo has a funky release from the side of his head, but the results speak for themselves with his shot-making ability. Ioppolo has a solid frame and seems like a safe bet to make shots and bring toughness from the WF position.
Jack Knapke Jack Knapke 6'8" | C Marion Local | 2024 State OH , 6’8 C Marion Local 2024: Knapke’s older brother Luke was a dominant force for Toledo and Jack is showing a lot of potential as a prospect himself. Knapke is a dominant rebounder, grabbing like 14 rebounds in the first half of the one high school game I caught of his. Knapke is tough around the basket but has a limited offensive game right now. I’ll want to see Knapke again as he develops a more well-rounded offensive game and see what he can do with Nw Ohio playing with more talented guards than he has during the high school season. Knapke is a big-time sleeper coming from an area of the state that is football crazy and Knapke is also a stud on the gridiron as well.
