You are looking for players to make the clutch shot, the crisp past or the timely defensive stand. This years’ incoming class of seniors in the 2A conference is just that and much more. This smaller conference is loaded with players that can knock down shots, make exciting plays and get you out of your seat. Lets’ continue reading and get an insight on a pair of exciting teammates, game altering floor generals and a stout big-man.
Max Myers Max Myers 6'2" | SF Cole Valley Christian | 2023 State ID / 6’3 – F / Cole Valley HS, 2023’
Myers, who recently transferred his talents to Cole Valley High School from Compass Charter, is one of the most efficient players you will see in boys high school basketball. The incoming senior forward took a tremendous leap from summer basketball in 2021 and by the looks of it, further growth is in his future as this summer kicks off. Last season, Myers shot a whopping 49 percent from the field, including 45 percent from three-point land. Myers is great at moving without the ball and he create enough space for a quality shot attempt. He also excels at taking the ball deep into the lane thanks to his quick first step. On defense, he is a down-right pest and he will frustrate you every night. If Myers can improve as a play-maker and become more of a force in transition, everyone is going to be talking about him when the year concludes.
Grayson Sands / 6’0 – G / St. Maries HS, 2023’
This 6’0 two-guard is one of the most fearless scorers you will hear about in the 2A conference. Sands is a force on the offensive side of the ball as he has the ability to shoot the lights out and is not a stranger to attacking the basket. His terrific shooting stoke is what gets him going during games and when Sands gets hot, sit back and watch the show. Sands will looks to mature as a passer, crashing the defensive boards and getting out on a break. Look for Sands to lead this exciting Lumberjack team to far lengths in 2022.
Tristun Hill Tristun Hill 6'6" | SF St. Maries | 2023 State ID / 6’7 – C / St. Maries HS, 2023
The senior big-man is an anchor on the defensive end for this St. Maries squad. He has no problem welcoming opposing teams’ drives to the hoop as he feists on protecting the basket. At 6 foot 7 inches tall he uses his big frame to control the boards and scare other big-men. It is crazy to think that Hill has already grown to such a big frame and just imagine if his growth continues. If that happens and Hill improves his footwork and post-game on offensive end, then you will see Hill make huge noise this season. Keep your eyes open for the frightening big-man.
Caden Yett Caden Yett 5'10" | PG Nampa Christian | 2023 State ID / 5’10 – G / Nampa Christian HS, 2023’
Yett is one of the more complete floor generals that you will see. Yett sets out to get his teammates involved game in and game out and he is comfortable scoring at any spot on the court. He has an admirable shooting stroke which worries other teams when playing against this Trojan team. Yett is also a force at creating contact and getting to the free-throw line with ease. When you watch Yett you see how poised he plays and how he looks like a true-veteran and is player that you would be lucky to lead your team. If Caden Yett Caden Yett 5'10" | PG Nampa Christian | 2023 State ID can improve on being disruptive on the defensive side of the ball and force opposing guards to struggle, then Yett has a chance to lead Nampa Christian towards a deep-run in 2022. Make sure you tune in and watch this mature guard make plays this season.
Brady Shaul Brady Shaul 5'10" | PG Bear Lake | 2023 State ID 5’10 – G / Bear Lake HS – ID, 2023’
Last season you saw flashes of dominance from Shaul in his limited floor minutes. He made an instant impact when he stepped on the floor and with the departure of a handful of last years’ starters, Shaul has the chance to make an even bigger impact as he steps into a larger role. Shaul is bothersome on the defensive end despite his smaller frame and he racks up steals nightly. He was great last year at scoring from the perimeter and with more court time expected to be given to him this season, you can only assume that Shaul will shine.
