Q & A with Coach Todd Neuendorf
PHD: How has the AAU season been going for your team?
Coach Neuendorf: “The team has gotten off to a good start, currently sitting at a 17-3 record. This year’s team combines guys who have played together for 5 years along with guys who are brand new to the team. It took a couple of games for the guys to feel each other out and for the new guys to get used to a new style of basketball. Thus far, the schedule has provided many challenging opponents as well as opportunities for growth for our team.“
PHD: What style of basketball do you play?
Coach Neuendorf: “We play an uptempo style both offensively and defensively. We pride ourselves on our unselfishness on offense and a desire to work hard on the defensive end of the floor. The team is very balanced and shares the ball extremely well. They do a great job of holding each other accountable and don’t care who scores the ball. They want to win and mak eachother better.“
PHD: Who have been a couple of your best defenders and why? Rebounders?
Coach Neuendorf: “ Colton Smith Colton Smith 6'5" | PF Mitchell | 2026 State SD has been defending the paint really well for us. He does a great job of protecting the rim. Colton is also very aggressive on both the offensive and defensive boards.“
“ Luke Krempges Luke Krempges 6'5" | PF Sioux Falls Lincoln | 2025 State SD and Zac VanMeeteren. Luke and Zac are very versatile and able to guard the perimeter and in the post. They provide a ton of rebounding for our team and allow to switch some screens 1-4 defensively.“
“ Easton Neuendorf Easton Neuendorf 5'11" | PG Hamlin | 2025 State SD . Easton causes problems for opponents with his quick hands and his ability to read the ball and shoot passing lanes.“
PHD: Who has been shooting it well for you?
Coach Neuendorf: “ Easton Neuendorf Easton Neuendorf 5'11" | PG Hamlin | 2025 State SD , Markus Talley Markus Talley 6'2" | PG Mitchell | 2025 State SD , Colton Smith Colton Smith 6'5" | PF Mitchell | 2026 State SD , and Evan Stormo Evan Stormo 6'3" | SF Hamlin | 2025 State SD have been scoring threats from behind the arc as well at attacking the rim. They provide the bulk of our scoring from the outside.“
“Easton – has been shooting well from deep, attacks the rim to break down opponents and
create shots for teammates, he is also athletic enough to make plays at the rim for himself.“
“Markus – lefty who is good going both directions, he can hit a three and has a great mid range pull up game.“
“Colton – proved to be a very good back-to-the-basket player with the ability to score with either hand. He is also very good at passing out of the post and reading the double teams.“
“Evan – has made a point to get the rim but can hit the 3 consistently from anywhere on the floor.“
PHD: What have been a few highlights so far in the AAU season?
Coach Neuendorf: “Our guys are getting better each time we play. Excited about how unselfish we play and how we have gelled as a team in a short period of time and how hard we play as a unit. We are excited about the summer AAU season.“
