The last position to profile are the big fellas, click here to see all of our recent articles about the 2023 class. This is the class that college programs are now focusing on to recruit, so make sure they know who you are!
Boubacar Djigo Boubacar Djigo 6'7" | C Lutheran West | 2023 State OH , 6’7 C Lutheran West 2023: Djigo had a huge end to his Junior season and seems to get better each time he steps on the court. Djigo plays with a high motor and was a double-double machine in the winter. I was impressed with Djigo’s ability to rebound the basketball, as one of the few players with size on Lutheran West. Djigo is a prospect I’d like to see this summer to see where he stands now.
Nyelle Shaheed Nyelle Shaheed 6'5" | C Harvest Prep | 2023 State OH , 6’5 PF Harvest Prep 2023: Shaheed is a prospect who took his game to the next level as a Junior, being a reliable scorer for Harvest Prep. I always liked the energy and effort that Shaheed plays with, seemingly scoring 4-6 points a game just from his effort running the floor and crashing the offensive glass. Shaheed has expanded his game to be able to attack a closeout with a direct attack to the basket and is more consistent at finishing around the basket. There’s still some clear areas of improvement for Shaheed including his jump-shot and decision making with the basketball, but his motor will give him the time on the floor to learn and develop these skills.
Lee Benson Lee Benson 6'5" | PF Meadowdale | 2023 State OH , 6’6 PF Meadowdale 2023: Benson is another high energy forward prospect who relies on his athleticism and length to score around the basket. The lefty has expanded his game a little and is more confident with the ball in his hands. Benson is still a guy who will get on the court with his size and rebounding, the improvements with the ball in his hands are just gravy. Benson should once again be one of the more productive players in the Dayton City League.
