These prospects had the best weekend overall from the action that I was able to cover. Let’s begin with the Class of 2023.
Luke Almodovar Luke Almodovar 6'2" | SG Noblesville | 2023 State IN (Noblesville H.S. 2023/Indiana Elite Team Indiana 2023): This smooth, left-handed guard continued his strong spring scoring the ball at a high level in Fort Wayne. Almodovar is a great athlete, has explosiveness at the end of his drives, but can also create his own shot and score from the perimeter.
Xavier Booker Xavier Booker 6'11" | PF Cathedral | 2023 State #4 Nation IN (Cathedral H.S. 2023/George Hill All Indy 2023): Coach Bill Self may have been paying attention to the Run N Slam, though not allowed to attend in person, because this 4-star forward earned an offer from the 2022 national champions after yet another great weekend. Had 24 points in an impressive win over Midwest Basketball Club.
Markus Burton Markus Burton 5'11" | PG Penn | 2023 State #190 Nation IN (Penn H.S. 2023/Indy Heat Red 2023): There is no stopping this 5’10″ guard from scoring the basketball. Burton is dynamic with the ball, can create his own shot, has quickness off of the bounce, and can make tough shots from the perimeter. There is a reason why low and mid-major coaches are all over this Indy Heat Red playmaker.
Garwey Dual Garwey Dual 6'5" | PG Carmel | 2023 #113 Nation CA-S (Carmel H.S. 2023/George Hill All Indy 2023): Dual’s stock just continues to rise over the course of the spring. He was fantastic once again at Run N Slam showcasing his playmaking ability at 6’5″ on the wing and his excellent length on the defensive end. One of the better two-way prospects in the class and continues to catch the eye of more and more college coaches.
Jeremy Fears Jeremy Fears 6'1" | PG La Lumiere | 2023 GA (La Lumiere 2023/Indy Heat 2023 EYBL): The future Michigan State Spartan showed why he is considered one of the most dynamic playmakers in the country while playing in Fort Wayne. Fears shook up the defense consistently off of the dribble and finished in a variety of creative ways around the basket. Electric off of the bounce.
Joey Hart Joey Hart 6'5" | SG Linton-Stockton | 2023 State #214 Nation IN (Linton-Stockton H.S. 2023/Grand Park Premier 2023): Hart is as consistent of a scorer as you will find in Indiana’s Class of 2023. Sooner or later, in just about every single game, he is going to get things going. The 6’5″ guard is an excellent shooter and continues to show improves off the dribble as well.
Ben Henderson Ben Henderson 6'3" | SG Harrison | 2023 State IN (Lafayette Harrison H.S. 2023/Indiana Ice 2023): Henderson averaged over 15 points per game for Indiana Ice as they went 5-1 on the weekend. A 6’3″ strong, athletic wing, Henderson has a smooth pull-up jump while also possessing the skills to play through contact and finish against size around the basket.
Dylan Moles Dylan Moles 6'3" | PG Greenfield-Central | 2023 State IN (Greenfield-Central H.S. 2023/Kyle Guy Elite Black 2023): This 6’2″ guard putting on a shot-making clinic on Sunday in a game that I had the opportunity to watch. Moles creates his own shot off of the dribble very well and has a consistent stroke on his pull-up. Elite shooter, especially off of the dribble, and is a little quicker with the ball than you probably think.
JaQualon Roberts JaQualon Roberts 6'8" | PF Bloomington North | 2023 State IN (Bloomington H.S. North 2023/Indiana Elite 2023 3SSB): The athletic 6’7″ forward had a strong showing for Indiana Elite at the Run N Slam. Roberts showed off his offensively versatility punishing smaller defenders around the basket while taking the bigger ones off of the dribble. Had 19 points in a tournament game on Sunday.
Kamari Slaughter Kamari Slaughter 6'2" | SG Cathedral | 2023 State IN (Portage H.S. 2023/94 Feet Elite 2023): A 6’2″ guard out of The Region, Slaughter has put together a great spring culminating with a strong performance at Run N Slam. He is super physical off of the dribble, showed impressive decision-making and passing ability, and can score at the rim at the end of his drives. Definitely a scholarship-worthy guard.
