The Prep Hoops Circuit is winding down with a few more events across the country. Coming up in July, Oklahoma City will host another event and then we’ll close things out in Dallas a few weeks later. June is right around the corner and our next ranking update will take place then. We’ve seen plenty of talented players play on our circuit this offseason and we take a look at some of the prospects who have done incredibly well over the last few months. In this post, we take a look at the 2024 stock risers. Yesterday, we released the 2023 stock risers and tomorrow we’ll have a look at the 2025 stock risers.
Braeden Clinton Braeden Clinton 6'0" | CG Riverfield Country Day | 2024 State OK – Guard – Riverfield (Oklahoma Swift)
Our first stock riser got on our radar before the Circuit even began in April. In March, Riverfield made their first ever trip to the state tournament and that’s where we first saw the Clinton brothers. I came away very impressed with both and specifically the 2024 guard Braeden Clinton Braeden Clinton 6'0" | CG Riverfield Country Day | 2024 State OK , who brought a lot to the table on the offensive end of the floor. I was very impressed with his playmaking ability and overall shooting and that’s continued over the last few months when I’ve seen him in Circuit events. Clinton is an undersized guard but plays incredibly physical when he needs to and he’s very strong with the ball. Despite not having an advantage in size, it seems like he always has a strength advantage and can make something out of nothing. He’s a small school prospect to keep an eye on moving forward.
Carson Jones – Guard – Oklahoma Christian School (H&H Elite)
Get ready for a heavy Edmond feel moving forward and it starts with Carson Jones out of Oklahoma Christian School. I’ve probably seen more of H&H Elite’s 16U squad than any other team over the last two months. And every time I check them out, I’m impressed with the shot of Jones. He has a very consistent and smooth shot and when he’s left open, that’s a disaster for opponents. Jones has also showcased his ability to handle the rock and get to the basket and finish against contact. He’s become much more than a spot up shooter, although that’s still without a doubt the strength of his game. Another improvement in his abilities on the offensive side of the ball has been the pull up jumper. He’s been able to quicken his release and that has helped get open looks and create separation from defenders.
Jeremiah Deering – Guard – Deer Creek (RSE Elite)
Prep Hoops has a great network of writers and scouts and because of that, we’re able to cover many more players. I say all of this because I didn’t get a chance to see Deer Creek’s Jeremiah Deering during the first two months on the circuit but after talking with other writers and reading some of the breakdowns that they’ve had on him, it’s hard to not include him on this list. As far as 2024 prospects go, Deering is already one of the better ones in the state with a high upside. And he’s backed that up so far this offseason with his play in several different tournaments. The combination of size, skill and overall confidence is the main reason for Deering’s success over the last few months. We told you that the last three prospects had a heavy Edmond feel andit doesn’t stop here.
Tatum Ridge Tatum Ridge 6'2" | CG Edmond North | 2024 State OK – Guard – Edmond North (H&H Elite)
Our final stock riser would probably take the award for biggest stock riser among the 2024 group in this post. As I mentioned with Jones, I don’t think I’ve seen any other team more than H&H Elite’s 16U squad and point guard Tatum Ridge Tatum Ridge 6'2" | CG Edmond North | 2024 State OK out of Edmond North has been one of the best point guards I’ve seen and covered this offseason. The playmaking ability is absolutely there. From his handle of the basketball to getting teammates involved, Ridge does a little bit of everything. He can also score when he needs to and appears to be very comfortable at all three levels of the offensive end of the floor. Ridge is also gaining confidence on the defensive end and has the ability to lock up the other team’s primary ball handler. Ridge’s size will be a question for his recruitment but the production is there from the state champion guard.
