These players did a great job making an impact for their respective teams and made a lot of noise throughout the weekend. These are players to keep an eye on as the travel season moves on. Let’s take a deeper dive:
Jermaine Council – Ball 4 Lyfe – Kings Academy High School – Perhaps the most dominant guard throughout the weekend this young man grabbed the attention of the scouts in the building. Jermaine was a matchup nightmare for the opposing team and was a pitbull unleashed all weekend long. Jermaine is the clear leader of this talented squad and was scoring at will throughout the event. A powerful guard who can get to his spots and plays solid defense. Jermaine showed he could hit the open shots with consistency when needed and was the go to playmaker for his team. This young man was a pleasure to watch I loved his intensity and passion for the game. This is a young man to keep an eye on.
Derek Delgardo Derek Delgardo 6'0" | PG Leto | 2024 State FL – G1 – Leto High School – Derek was amongst the best guards in the 2024 class throughout the weekend and played a big role in his team finishing 4-0. Derek is not only a great shooter he can rebound, defend and led his team in steals throughout the showcase. Derek does a bit of everything on the floor and always seems to be having fun out there while doing it. His team was 1 of only 3 to go undefeated during the event. Lots of good upside to this young man’s game and he is a name to continue to track throughout the summer and into his upcoming junior season at Leto.
Elyjah Freeman – Team Trilogy – Wellington High School – This 6’5 wing does a nice job stretching the floor and is tough to stop in transition. Elyjah can knock down the open jumper and finish at the rim while displaying good fundamentals and playing with good energy. There is a lot to like with this young man who seems to have good upside and a good feel for the game. A good prospect to track going forward.
Tyler March – Big 3 – Schaumburg High School – Tyler who is 6’6 was doing everything for this team all weekend long. Whatever was needed he would get done while displaying a solid motor and great rebounding skills. Tyler has a nice outside shot and can attack the rim when his team needs a bucket. This team came in from Chicago and was faced up against one of the harder schedules for the weekend. They did a nice job competing and I was impressed with Tyler’s overall game. I always enjoy seeing out of state teams come in to other regions on the circuit and compete. I enjoyed watching this group and believe that Tyler has good overall upside to his game.
