Quinton Martin Quinton Martin 6'3" | PF Belle Vernon | 2024 State PA | 6’2” | G | Belle Vernon 2024
An explosive athlete who has a future as an elite football prospect with major offers already. Big bodied guard who is unafraid of contact, gets up on the glass and also has offensive range beyond the arc. He posted several big games as a sophomore, including a double-double vs Quaker Valley. While he won’t receive the basketball interest given his football status, he’s worth mentioning as one of the top players to watch in this area the next two years.
Joseph Roth Joseph Roth 6'4" | PF Ellwood City | 2024 State PA | 6’5” | F | Ellwood City 2024
An all state selection as a sophomore, Roth will be one of the top players to watch in the northern areas of the WPIAL the next two seasons. He’s a hard worker on defense and is comfortable mixing it up physically in the paint. His presence in the middle changes the game for Ellwood. He is a three sport athlete who also swims and plays baseball. He had 38 vs Rochester and 28 vs Avonworth. The Regional D2 and D3 schools should have an eye on him.
Jay Wrona | 5’10” | G |Mohawk 2024
Wrona is another all area selection as a sophomore and plays in the same division as Roth. He’s a crafty guard who isn’t afraid to let it fly from beyond the arc. He had 13 vs Ellwood City. Also plays baseball. As he progresses, D3 schools should keep an eye on him.
Makhai Valentine Makhai Valentine 6'3" | SG Steel Valley | 2023 State PA | 6’3” | G | Steel Valley 2023
Valentine was a scoring machine as a junior for Steel Valley, averaging just under 30PPG. A first team all state selection in 3A as a junior, he should have an even more impressive senior year to cap it off. He’s a good ball handler, strong attacking the bucket and can let it rip from deep. He’s active on D and gets up to block shots with authority. One of the top players along the Monongahela in the Class of 2023. D2s and D3s should have plenty of interest in him.
