Khalif Bettis Khalif Bettis 6'6" | SF Burnsville | 2023 State MN of Burnsville (6’5” Wing – 2023)
Khalif is a unique prospect who specializes in scoring the ball. He is at his best when shooting the ball from the mid-range and three-point areas. He is lethal out of the catch-and-shoot and off the dribble creating his own shots. Bettis is not scared to attack the rim either, having some very impressive finishes in transition. Khalif was asked to carry a large amount of the scoring load during the winter at Burnsville, as he averaged around 20 points per game. He has interest from a number of mid-major D1 schools, as well as some high-level D2 interest.
Chet Kloss Chet Kloss 6'6" | PF Eastview | 2023 State MN of Eastview (6’6” Forward – 2023)
Kloss is looking to carry a successful junior season into this spring and summer. He averaged 6.5 points per game this past winter on a very deep Eastview team that made it all the way to the state semifinals. Chet is an all-around player who succeeds playing in the paint, as well as the perimeter. He can score from all three levels, as he was knocking down a high percentage of his catch-and-shoot threes. He is also very hard to stop while attacking the rim with his tier of strength. He already has a D2 offer from the University of Sioux Falls in the NSIC.
Carrington Mcneal Carrington Mcneal 6'3" | PG Tca | 2022 State MN & Carmello Mcneal Carmello Mcneal 6'3" | PG Tca | 2022 State MN of TCA (6’1” Guards – 2022)
The McNeal twins had a fantastic showing at the Prep Hoops ‘Live’! The unsigned seniors both play very similarly, as they can both knock down shots from beyond the arc with their elite range and can also attack the rim with a number of moves catching the defense off guard. Both of the twins are very quick and explosive, also showing off their vision with some picture perfect passes. They also connected for the play of the weekend with a fast break alley-oop off the backboard to close off their win over Illinois Bears. Carmello and Carrington combined for around 40 points per game this past season for Twin Cities Academy. They would both be great additions to a team looking for two high IQ guards with a loaded skillset.
Molley Komara of Park Center (6’7” Forward – 2023)
Molley is a very intriguing prospect in Minnesota’s 2023 class. The 6’7” forward is oozing with potential with his athleticism and wingspan. In Kansas, he specialized in transition scoring and going to work in the post. If you let Komara get to his left hand, it is almost unstoppable. He has very smooth shooting mechanics, but when he can start to consistently knock down shots from the outside, it will get very scary. Molley saw limited varsity minutes for the state champion Pirates this past year, but should step into a much larger role next season at Park Center.
Elias Batala Elias Batala 6'1" | PG Eastview | 2023 State MN of Eastview (6’0” Guard – 2023)
Elias shot the lights out at the Prep Hoops ‘Live’. He was one of the top scorers on a team full of players capable of scoring 10+ points every game. He was very effective shooting in the corner out of the catch-and-shoot, knocking down shot after shot. Batala will step into a very important role as a top ball handler for a stacked Eastview squad with the graduation of Kenji Scales Kenji Scales 6'0" | PG Eastview | 2022 State MN . Elias is one of the most underrated players in the current junior class in my opinion.
Easton Whitcomb Easton Whitcomb 6'3" | SF Rogers | 2023 State MN of Rogers (6’3” Wing – 2023)
Easton is a very skilled and smart player. He did a great job scoring from all three levels coming off the bench for Chill, single-handedly taking over their third game in a matchup with Gateway Knights. He could not be stopped attacking the rim, using a variety of different layups, floaters, and mid-range jumpers. He missed a large chunk of the season this past winter, but should be in for an important role at Rogers next season.
Ellis Todd Ellis Todd 6'4" | SG Delasalle | 2022 MN of DeLaSalle (6’3” Guard – 2022)
Ellis is a very versatile unsigned senior prospect. He is very athletic, using his speed and vertical to his advantage very often. Todd impressed me the most around the rim, showing off his bag of moves around the basket, especially in transition. He is also a solid defender and scorer from the perimeter. Ellis played his senior season on the Island at DeLaSalle.
Will Kietzmann of GSP (7’0” Center – 2022)
Will is a big body who specializes in grabbing rebounds, protecting the paint, and being used in the pick & roll. He is tough to move inside and is a very vocal leader. Any D3, NAIA, or junior colleges looking for a legit seven footer to do the dirty work inside should contact Will ASAP.
Marino Porter Marino Porter 5'10" Tartan | 2023 MN of Tartan (5’10” Guard – 2023)
Porter is so hard to stay in front of as a defender, he is so quick and twitchy. He impressed me a lot with the way he can change paces with the ball in his hands. That resulted in him blowing by defenders and getting to the basket with ease very often. When he would get there, he can use a variety of double clutch layups to score over or around larger defenders. Marino was a solid contributor to a very talented Tartan team this past season, helping them to a 21-7 record.
Con Osuji Con Osuji 6'6" | C Tartan | 2023 State MN of Tartan (6’7” Forward – 2023)
Con is a very raw prospect for this Chill team. He is a big body who moves well at 6’7”, specializing in grabbing rebounds and blocking shots. He should be an interesting player to watch next year at Tartan next season, as they lost a lot of important seniors which will allow more roles to be filled.
