Jamarion Batemon Jamarion Batemon 6'3" | CG Milwaukee Academy of Science | 2025 State #174 Nation WI (6’2 2025 G, Power 5)- Not only is Batemon a talented all around guard, but he’s a lights out shooter from beyond the arc. In a win over Illinois Attack on Sunday, Jamarion’s ability to stretch the floor was key in Power 5 building up a lead. They were struggling in the half-court early until Batemon’s quick trigger from deep started putting points on the board and forcing the opposing defense to stop collapsing so hard in the post. He caught fire again later in the game showcasing his extremely quick release and high level of confidence in his shot. Outside of shooting, Jamarion has good length, is an explosive athlete, and handles the ball well under pressure.
Jamisen Young Jamisen Young 6'0" | PG Sunrise Christian Academy | 2023 KS (6′ 2023 PG, World Hoops Elite )- Not sure I saw anyone else force as many turnovers as Jamisen did. He’s just so quick with a motor that doesn’t stop on the defensive end. He’s willing to pick up full court on the ball, but is also really sneaky in coming in for double teams or sprinting behind guys in transition and just poking the ball free. It doesn’t stop there though as once he forces that turnover he’s sprinting up the floor looking to get a transition bucket, and he’s a crafty finisher at the rim who can go up against size. In the half-court he has a shifty handle to create separation and he knocked down a handful of threes in the game I saw.
Jaquan Johnson Jaquan Johnson 5'10" | PG Pius XI | 2024 State WI (5’9 2024 PG, Wisconsin PGC)- You won’t find many players in the state who can create off the dribble like Jaquan can. He just gets to the rim whenever he wants to and has an uncanny ability to take over a game for his team when needed most. His strong frame allows him to go right into size and either force a foul or hang in the air and contort his body to finish over height. Was really impressed with his ability to create space in the mid-range as well and just elevate to hit his jumpers comfortably. Some big time performances from the Pius XI prospect.
Grayson Young Grayson Young 6'2" | CG Wisconsin Lutheran | 2024 State WI (6’2 2024 G, ABC Young Lions)- Grayson came through when his team needed him the most on Saturday. In a tight game Grayson knocked down a late three, and then came back moments later to hit another deep jumper to give his team a one point win. The 2024 guard has a nice feel for the game and never got sped up no matter what the defense threw at him. Just consistently makes smart reads and is an unselfish player. Smooth shooting stroke from beyond the arc to stretch out the defense and open driving lanes.
Daniel Robinson Daniel Robinson 6'2" | CG Waukesha South | 2023 State WI (6’2 2023 G, Wisconsin Playground Club)- An explosive two-way guard prospect, Daniel was getting it done on both ends of the floor. In the last game of the day he was showcasing his full scoring arsenal, working his way to the basket for some tough finishes while also knocking down a couple outside shots. In PGC’s big win over Playmakers on Saturday, he was a monster on the defensive end. As part of a full court press, Daniel was all over the place pressuring the ball and jumping passing lanes to create transition opportunities for his team.
Jamiir Allen Jamiir Allen 6'0" | CG Wisconsin Lutheran | 2023 State WI (6′ 2023 PG, ABC Young Lions)- Need a bucket? You won’t need to look much further than Jamiir as he was a danger in isolation all weekend long. He’s just so quick with the ball and the threat of him driving to the basket or pulling up for a jumper at any given second makes him so difficult to defend. He was constantly forcing help defenders to jump in on him which also allowed for him to set up his teammates for easy looks as he can quickly locate an open man. Hit threes, mid-range jumpers, and made tough finishes look routine around the basket.
Demond Laongoen (5’9 2024 PG, Wisconsin Premier)- Demond was one of the shiftiest players I saw all weekend, and defenders had such a difficult time keeping him in front. His lightning quick crossover allowed him to blow by his man and get into the paint where he’s such a dangerous player. He can finish over the top with a floater, go straight into contact to earn trips to the free throw line, or dish it off to one of his bigs at the last second. Whenever the ball is in Demond’s hands you never know what’s going to happen, but in most cases it resulted in two points or a high percentage look for his team.
Ty Fernholz Ty Fernholz 6'2" | SG Stoughton | 2024 State WI (6’2 2024 PG, Wisconsin Blizzard)- Playing for one of the top 16u teams in the state, Ty is such a consistent player. Because of his ability to do so many things on the floor, you’ll rarely see him have a bad game. Shot isn’t falling? He’s going to find ways to get the ball to the hot hand while playing tough defense on the other end. Has a tough defender on him? Ty is so good at running off screens to create openings to catch and shoot from three. In all three games I watched, Ty was a key player on both ends of the floor.
Jamariea Dalton Jamariea Dalton 6'3" | SG Fond Du Lac | 2023 State WI (6’3 2023 CG, E2E Elite)- Dalton has made some nice strides with his outside shot, and it’s making him a more complete player on offense. He’s now comfortable taking and making threes both off the catch and dribble, which forces defenders to guard him a bit tighter. With that he’s able to use his explosive first step to get by and attack the basket where he’s an above the rim athlete. Had one dunk in the open floor and nearly threw down another one over the top of a defender. Jay has also been excelling at getting into the lane and locating open shooters for easy points for his team.
