Will Hornseth Will Hornseth 6'8" | PF De Pere | 2024 State #208 Nation WI (6’8 2024 PF/C, Wisconsin Blizzard)- There’s a lot to like about Will as a prospect, both in the present and looking ahead to the future. Right now he has a solid frame to work with, but is also more athletic than most guys his size. Really like how hard he runs the floor every possession, and it usually leads to one or two easy baskets each game. When you’re playing at a competitive level, that extra effort can be the difference between a win and a loss. He’s so good at establishing low post position which can lead to quick scores down low, but I also love how he sees the floor and is able to quickly locate an open teammate when the double team comes. Good passer out of the high post as well.
Sekou Konneh Sekou Konneh 6'6" | SF St. Thomas More | 2024 State WI (6’8 2024 PF, Power 5)- Sekou’s name belongs in the discussion for top post prospect in Wisconsin’s 2024 class. Athletically he just does some freakish things on the floor, and the skills are catching up. In the game I saw he put one defender on a poster with a powerful dunk, and in the second half elevated for a put-back dunk in traffic. Defensively he’s a rim protecting threat with his length and timing, but has no problem moving laterally when he has to switch out on the perimeter. Konneh adds in a solid looking jump shot from the mid-range that is hard to contest due to his elevation.
Matt Merlo (6’5 2023 F, Chapman-North)- Matt showed some point forward skills in Chapman-North’s game against E2E Elite. He spent time handling the ball for his team due to his mobility and passing vision at 6’5. Sees the floor so well from the top of the key to zip in passes to slashing teammates, but also operates from the block where he can hit his teammates with accurate scoop passes through tight windows. Finishes strong through contact around the basket, but is also a threat from beyond the arc. Sleeper prospect out of Random Lake.
Keaton Frisch Keaton Frisch 6'7" | SF Waunakee | 2024 State WI (6’7 2024 F, Wisconsin PGC UAA)- Keaton just keeps on getting better, and has developed into one of the better forwards in Wisconsin’s 2024 class. So dangerous out of the high post because he’s quicker than most 6’7+ guys, which allows him to attack the basket off one or two dribbles. Also has the ability to face up and just elevate to knock down a mid-range jumper. When he makes quick cuts along the baseline he has the bounce to catch and quickly elevate to finish above the rim, but also showed some composure to finish through contact.
William Whorton William Whorton 6'8" | PF Rufus King | 2023 State WI (6’8 2023 PF, Wisconsin PGC UAA)- You won’t find many guys as long as William Whorton William Whorton 6'8" | PF Rufus King | 2023 State WI . At 6’8 he has plenty of length, is a mobile athlete, and has some explosiveness. All of those traits make him a major presence on the defensive end. He plays so well in PGC’s full court press because of his ability to cover a lot of ground and also use his length to tip/intercept passes. Showed he can take a defensive rebound or steal and handle the ball on his own in the open floor. That resulted in some transition assists while also leading to some highlight dunks. Offensively he does a lot of his damage just scrapping for offensive boards, but he’s also a factor from beyond the arc with an improved jumper when left open.
Wyatt Anderson Wyatt Anderson 6'5" | PF Westosha Central | 2023 WI (6’4 2023 PF, World Hoops Elite )- Wyatt is consistently the hardest working player on the floor. He doesn’t care if he’s matched up with someone 6’8+, he’s going to battle for every inch on every possession. Before he used to be someone who would defend hard in the post and rebound at a high level, but he’s worked to become a low post scoring threat as well. Looked confident catching with his back to the basket and had an arsenal of post moves he could utilize to get good looks at the rim. Brings so much energy to the floor for his team.
Devin Brown Devin Brown 6'7" | PF Milwaukee Academy Of Science | 2025 State #196 Nation WI (6’6 2025 PF, Power 5)- Tons of potential from this 2025 forward out of MAS. He explodes effortlessly off the floor which makes him a big shot blocking threat at the 15u level. Pinned a pair of shots off the glass in the first half, and would instantly turn and sprint up the floor to get out in transition. He can work with his back to the basket as he’s a physical presence who loves to use a drop-step and then just power up to finish. Had a handful of tough finishes through contact and was a major presence on the glass on both ends of the floor.
Alex Sherwood Alex Sherwood 6'4" | SF Xavier | 2023 State WI (6’7 2023 F, Wisconsin Crusaders Premier)- Alex is a high level prospect for Crusaders Premier who can alternate between the 3 and 4 spots. He has such a smooth stroke from beyond the arc, and causes mismatches because not all guys his size have the mobility to keep up with him on the perimeter. Alex is also comfortable putting the ball on the floor and attacking off the bounce. I like how active he is off the ball, as his constant movement helps open up some clean looks from three, while also getting open around the basket with hard off-ball cuts. Showed the ability to hold his own against size in the paint, while also moving his feet well on the wing defensively.
