This event fell on the second live period of the spring which permitted college coaches of all levels to be in the gym watching potential recruits taking live reps. Here are the top prospects we saw on the weekend.
Sean Alter Sean Alter 6'9" | PF Volcano Vista | 2023 State NM , Team ABC 17u – Alter impacts the game in a variety of ways, but the 6-foot-8 forward is most impressive with how hard he plays on both ends of the floor. Alter is a big time rim-runner and transition finisher around the basket who also plays a physical brand of defense and rebounds on both the offensive and defensive boards.
Shane Douma-Sanchez Shane Douma-Sanchez 6'0" | PG Del Norte | 2023 State NM , Team ABC 17u – Douma-Sanchez missed most of his junior year due to injury, but in our look at him in this event, he was as quick and shifty as we remember him from the Pangos events in which we first saw him. The 6-foot-1 junior is a shifty playmaker and scorer off the bounce whose pull-up shooting ability opens up driving lanes for him to probe the lane and score or create for teammates.
Tyran Stokes, Team WhyNot 16u – Stokes, just an eighth grader, has an intriguing combination of size, skill and fluidity. At 6-feet-7 with ball skills, passing ability, and an inside-out scoring skill-set, Stokes will be a highly-regarded incoming freshman who has a chance to be highly recruited.
Tyrone Riley, Team WhyNot 16u – Riley is a smooth shooting left-hander whose size, length and athleticism make him an intriguing prospect for Low and Mid Division 1 programs. Riley has a consistent three-point shooting stroke and an improving mid-range game that he can hit off of one or two dribbles. Riley’s size, length and lateral speed makes him a player with high defensive potential.
Zion Sensley Zion Sensley 6'8" | SF Archbishop Riordan | 2024 State #124 Nation CA-N , Team WhyNot 16u – Sensley’s combination of ball skills, creativity off the bounce, floor stretching ability and overall feel for the game make him one of the top 2024 prospects on the west coast. The sophomore boasts a long and wiry 6-foot-8 frame, can break defenders down off the dribble, hit open catch-and-shoot three’s, and has the IQ and passing ability to create for teammates in the half-court and transition settings.
