I cant wait to see what the do during the remainder of the tournament, as well as the growth they will begin to show over the next few months!
Kasen Hastings Kasen Hastings 6'0" | PG Krum | 2024 State TX 2024 6’0 Krum High School, TX (DC Kings Denton 2024)
Kasen is a skilled point guard who sees the floor at an extremely high level and sets up his teammates very well in the half court. He routinely found his teammates with timely passes and aware cross court passes that found his wide open teammates on the back side of the defense. I was impressed by his ability to get into the teeth of the defense and make the right reads to set up his team for easy looks, either from dump off passes or on the weak side. He is a tough finisher in the paint, who showed an ability to get his shot off over bigger defenders. He displayed an ability to score off the dribble from the mid-range and beyond the arc as well. I would like to see him work on tightening up his handle and creating space within the half court through quick crossovers.
Jensen Knowles Jensen Knowles 6'3" | SG Richardson | 2024 TX 2024 6’3 Richardson High School, TX (Victory Academy Gold)
Jensen is a complete player with his ability to put the ball on the floor and score off the dribble, as well as shadow his opponent on the defensive end of the floor and play in the passing lanes. His versatility on the defensive end of the floor allowed him to wreak havoc on the perimeter, and even protect the rim when necessary. He consistently moves his feet at a very high level and knows how to come up with steals and live on the fast break. I was very impressed with his ability to create space off the dribble, as well as his consistent off ball movement. He worked the baseline for open shots in the corners and flashed to the front of the rim for easy looks in the paint. I would like to see him work on his consistency in the paint and working on his ability to score over bigger defenders in the paint.
Ahmad Abualneel 2024 6’4 Plano East High School, TX (Hard Hoops 2024)
Ahmad is a sharp shooting wing with an ability to punish the defense from all three levels of the floor. He is great at using his frame to get into the defense and finish with a soft touch displaying a floater and runner, as well as a nice one to two dribble pull up. His ability to score off the bounce from beyond the arc was very impressive, and he has supreme confidence in his shot from anywhere on the floor. His scoring prowess forced the defense to focus on him, and he calmly made the right decisions and created offense for his teammates. I was very impressed with his all around feel for the game and his ability to affect the game on the defensive end of the ball.
Kaden Jackson Kaden Jackson 6'0" | SG Bishop Dunne - Dallas | 2024 TX 2024 6’0 L.D Bell High School, TX (Belief Basketball SharpShooters 2024)
Kaden is a sharp shooting guard who easily scores off the catch and fits well within his team’s offense. He has the ability to be the focal point of his team’s offense with his consistent shooting and flawless mechanics. I loved watching him work off the ball to find space for himself and quickly getting his shot up over defenders. I was blown away with his ability to score from the perimeter, while also putting the ball on the floor and getting into the lane and scoring at the rim. He routinely scored in the paint through contact which opened up the floor from the second and third levels even more. He is great at moving his feet and staying with his opponent on the defensive end of the floor, he locked up his defender with his ability to keep his man in front of him.
Mason Saad 2024 5’11 McKinney Boyd High School, TX (Victory Academy 2024 White)
Mason is an aggressive on ball defender, who can also space the floor and be a weapon on the perimeter with his shot making ability. His consistency from the corners and wings really stood out as he consistently knocked down shots off the catch. I was very impressed with his ability to poke the ball free and then run on the break. He constantly made good decisions on the break and even pulled up for a three off the bounce. He had an emphatic chase down block that got his team’s energy up and proved to be a turning point in the game. I would like to see him use his aggressiveness to get into the teeth of the defense and finish at the rim with more consistency.
