Wiggley is one of the most unique players in the 2023 class, a 6-4 point-forward who is arguably one of the best passers in the state. He sees the floor and plays like a true point guard in a power forward’s body, and he loves to get others involved. He has soft hands and touch around the bucket and has good body control around the rim, but it’s his ability to find his teammates in scoring positions that sets him apart from other bigs around the state.
SF Aidan Yamilkoski Aidan Yamilkoski 6'4" | SG Xavier | 2023 State IA (Xavier)
Yamilkoski has solidified his reputation as a scorer throughout his high school career, but it was his play on the defensive end that really stood out in Martin Brothers win over Pure Prep. He was locked in on that end of the floor, moving his feet well and making his man work really hard on that end of the floor. He rotates well, sliding in to take a charge and coming up with an impressive helpside block. When you combine increased defensive intensity with his ability to score from all three levels, you have an intriguing collegiate prospect at 6-4.
SF Traijan Sain Traijan Sain 6'5" | SF Cedar Rapids Washington | 2023 State IA (Cedar Rapids Washington)
Sain has always been one of the most talented players in the 2023 class, and it seems as though he’s really starting to put everything together now. He’s gaining confidence seemingly with every game, which is allowing him to also perform at a more consistently high level. A 6-5/6-6 wing who can handle it and create his own looks, he has really gained confidence in his jumper, both off the dribble and the catch, which is opening up the rest of his offensive game. He has improved as a playmaking threat, rebounds well on both ends of the floor, and has the size, length, and athleticism to be an impact defender.
SF Padraig Gallagher Padraig Gallagher 6'5" | SF Beckman Catholic | 2023 State IA (Beckman Catholic)
Gallagher has always been one of the best pure shooters in the state, and he’s really developed his ball-handling over the last 12 months, opening up his ability to create his own shot. A high IQ scoring wing who moves incredibly well off the ball, he’s a true three-level scorer who is perfectly willing to take his smaller defender down onto the block and use his bigger frame to bully his way to buckets, and he has the finesse and picturesque jumper to torch teams from deep in a hurry. His improving handle has not only helped his ability to score, but also his ability to get others involved, breaking down the defense and getting them to collapse, then finding an open teammate. He’s a good rebounder on both ends of the floor.
SF Chase Low Chase Low 6'3" | PF Charles City | 2023 State IA (Charles City)
The 6-5 wing is an explosive athlete who can make plays above the rim on both ends of the floor. He handles the ball fairly well and can get to the rim, where he isn’t afraid to power through contact for finishes. Defensively, he provides some versatility with his length and explosive athleticism.
