Below are the top players from the game.
Top Players:
Matthew Noll Matthew Noll 6'7" | PF Bishop Heelan | 2024 State IA Noll was excellent from the tip and controlled the whole game. Came out finishing around the rim and shooting the three at a high level. He has great footwork down in the post. His handle has improved a lot over the last year, being able to go coast to coast in transition. On defense, he is always working hard fronting the post and protecting the rim. With his 6’6 frame, his shot has a high arc making it hard for the defender to close out. Look for Matthew to continue to have a huge summer and a big junior season.
Cade Courbat Cade Courbat 6'8" | PF Cedar Falls | 2024 State IA Cade was great all game finishing down low. Cade rebounded well in this game, he is always finding a body and boxing out. Courbat has good hands and footwork down around the rim. He has excellent athleticism allowing him to take his guy off the dribble. Plays great in transition, allowing him to get out for fast-break layups.
Redek Born Redek Born 6'3" | PG Norwalk | 2024 State IA Redek was excellent getting to the rim all game. He has good size and strength allowing him to finish through contact at the rim. When he got to the free-throw line, he was consistently knocking them down all game. Has a quick first step, allowing him to blow by his defender off one or two dribbles. Born didn’t shoot the ball much but got to his spots when he needed to.
Owen Larson Owen Larson 6'1" | PG Estherville Lincoln Central | 2024 State IA Owen was excellent running the point and getting things set up all game. Larson plays with a great pace, making it hard for the defense to stay in front of him. Always has his eyes up, ready to set his teammates up for an easy play. On the defensive end is where he stood out in this game particularly. He was constantly on the floor for loose balls and coming up with steals multiple times. His help-side defense was a factor all game cutting guys off on the drive and being in the passing lanes ready for tips.
Mynor Strong Mynor Strong 6'1" | CG Omaha North | 2024 State NE Mynor has a nice all-around game. A good mix of length and athleticism gives him the ability to do it all. His ball-handling for an oversized guard is excellent. Strong is a good defender, he contests jump shots well and is hard to finish on around the rim. Mynor’s jump shot has a nice high and smooth release. On the day he was kind of quiet in the first half, but when he settled in, he found a way to impact the game offensively.
Devin Holmon Devin Holmon 6'5" | PF Omaha Central | 2024 State NE Holmon has the perfect size and length to complement his skill set. The 6’5 guard has a nice handle and can get to the rim with ease when he wants. His jump shot has a smooth stroke and he knocks it down at a high level! His length makes him a tough defender, making it hard to shoot over him. Holmon is always crashing the rebounds coming up with put-backs and keeping possessions alive for his team.
