Uecker has quickly become one of my favorite players to watch because he does everything the right way and plays hard all the time. A high IQ 6-2 guard who is equally adept at scoring or facilitating, Uecker is armed with a quick release and extended range on his jumper as well as outstanding court vision. He’s a dynamic shooting threat when he’s playing off the ball as well, using off-ball screens to get himself open.
Phillips was one of the most pleasant surprises of the weekend, a player that I knew next to nothing about coming in and came away incredibly impressed with. A big and nimble 6-4 forward, he looks like a defensive end but is a heck of a basketball player. He handles the ball well for a young big man and combines that with good court vision and passing instincts. He has really good footwork and touch around the rim and is an excellent rebounder, particularly on the defensive end where he can either pull down the board and lead the break or showoff his passing, delivering some excellent outlet passes throughout the weekend.
SF Ridik Meton (Dowling Catholic)
A bouncy 6-2 wing who did a great job moving without the ball, Meton is a physical scorer who can absorb contact around the rim and finish. He’s a strong rebounder on both ends of the floor and showed a solid mid-range game off the dribble. He’s a pure scorer who is at his best when he’s playing downhill.
PG Deion Kinnetz-Jenkins (Waukee)
A quick, athletic lead guard, Kinnetz-Jenkins is a fantastic on-ball defender who really gets up into the opposing ball-handler and makes their life miserable throughout the game. He moves his feet extremely well, has quick hands, and really takes pride in his work on the defensive end of the floor. Offensively, he’s a pass-first point guard who sees the floor well and is a good enough ball-handler to break down the defense and get to the rim.
PG Joey Coppola Joey Coppola 5'11" | PG Dowling Catholic | 2024 State IA (Dowling Catholic)
A heady 5-10 lead guard, Coppola does a great job playing with pace, changing speeds well to get by defenders and to the cup, where he’s an excellent finisher with either hand. He’s a really good ball-handler who sees the floor well and gets others involved and showed a solid pull-up jumper with range out to the arc.
