The Hustle Region Circuit consists of AAU Programs from California, Oregon, Washington, Arizona, Utah, Montana, Idaho, Colorado, and New Mexico. The circuit features 10 stops including the Hustle Region Final in Irvine July 15th – 17th. Stop number 5 sends us to Irvine California, for the Hustle In The Sun, where we will have everyone playing under one roof inside the Momentous Sports Arena. The event had several players with the ability to shoot the ball. In this article, we take a look at the top snipers from the event.
Manuel Chavez 5’10 PG BTI 2023 – Chavez was a consistent Sniper. I didn’t see all of his threes, but it was impossible not to notice his textbook stroke. He’s a big-time catch and shoot guy, that benefited by playing alongside a couple of bigs that commanded double teams. He certainly took advantage, burying 6 threes in the game I watched
Jack Lentz 5’9 PG BTI 2025 – Chavez was not the only sniper for BTI. Lentz did a good job of staying shot-ready, and being accurate. He spaced the floor well and was automatic in catch-and-shoot situations. The 5’9 sniper knocked down 5 threes in the game I watched and his team needed each and every one of them. Behind the timely shooting of Lentz, BTI escaped with a 75-74 victory.
Derek Tuason 5’11 PG Coastal Elite 2024 – I watched Tuason in a couple of games and he impressed with his outside shooting in both. His masterpiece was in the second game I watched in which he knocked down 4 threes in a hotly contested game, helping his Coastal Elite squad escape with a last-second victory.
Jackson Young 6’2 SG Swoosh Elite 2024 – Young has a ton of skills, but he’s still going to make his money with his shooting. The young sniper has perfect form and he put it on display, spraying threes from all over the court. Young has improved his upper body frame, and it has helped him with his range. Young nailed 4 threes, many of them from behind the college three-point line.
Caleb Hofmeister 5’10 PG Coastal Elite 2023 – Hofmeister is a specialist, however, he’s been one of the most consistent specialist on the circuit. He backed up that statement by knocking down 4 shots in the game I watched, all of them being threes of course. The 5’10 shooter is a catch-and-shoot guy that is most effective from the corners.
Nathan Padilla 6’2 SG 1 of 1 2023 – Shame on the coach that didn’t give Padilla any minutes. I pulled up to his game to hear the other team instantly yelling “Shooter”. Easy to see why the 6’2 guard was getting so much attention. Padilla has a pretty release and he was able to space the floor effectively. He made 6 field goals in the game, all of them being threes, earning his spot on the list.
