I was mainly focusing on the 2024s and 2025s this weekend, so let’s look at the Indiana shooting guards who stood out in these 2024 games that I saw over the weekend.
Max Booher Max Booher 6'3" | SG Greenwood Christian | 2024 State IN – 6’1” SG – Greenwood Christian (Marlin Elite 2024)
Booher continues to be one of the best scorers on the circuit, and he dominates again this weekend. He can attack the rim, but he is much more efficient when letting it fly from the outside. Booher has unlimited range and shot over 50% from three on the weekend and scored 18 points per game. He is in line to have a big junior year in the coming season.
De’markis Cole – 6’1” SG – Muncie Central (All Area Basketball 2024)
Cole is a bigger guard who does the dirty work for his ball clubs. He always hustles down the floor, and he can both score it and pass it to the open man. Cole also finished well around the rim to go with his outside shooting.
Malik Corley Malik Corley 5'10" | PG LaPorte | 2024 State IN – 5’10” SG – LaPorte (Team GRIII Elite 2024)
Corley was dominating around the rim as he did not shy away from the contact on the inside. He is smooth to the hole, and he seemed to finish through contact every time. He also knocked down a couple of triples on the weekend. Great role player weekend from Corley.
Dhani Flannigan Dhani Flannigan 5'10" | PG Ben Davis | 2024 State IN – 6’0” SG – Franklin Central (D1 Indiana 2024)
Flannigan has made a name for himself recently, and this weekend was no different. The guard is very smooth in transition as he can both score it and dish it to an open teammate. He was one of the best finishers at the rim on the weekend, and he also pulled up for a pair of nice floaters in the lane. He is one to watch in the future for sure!
Jayden Furney Jayden Furney 6'1" | SG Delta | 2024 IN – 6’1” SG – Delta (All Area Basketball 2024)
Furney ran the offense for All Area this weekend, and he seemed to be all over the court. He makes quick decisions, knows where the ball needs to go, and he sees the open man every time. Furney also scored it well around the rim with some tough finishes inside.
Myles Holman – 6’2” SG – Hamilton Southeastern (D1 Indiana 2024 – 2)
Holman is a bigger shooting guard who shot the ball extremely well from the mid-range. He can get to his spot, and he stops on a dime to rise up and hit. Holman is also aggressive on the inside both finishing at the rim and rebounding it on both ends.
Wiatt McLaughlin Wiatt McLaughlin 6'1" | SG Whiteland | 2024 State IN – 6’1” SG – Whiteland (EG10 Red 2024)
McLaughlin was one of the breakout stars of the weekend, and he was consistently great all weekend long. He understands the game, and he plays with a ton of heart and fight. He also plays more of a combo guard position as he can both see the floor and pass it well as well as score it consistently. McLaughlin was another one who was lights out on the mid-range as he could stop on a dime at his spot on the floor.
Jake Mossman – 6’1” SG – Greenwood (EG10 2024)
Mossman is a flat-out scorer, and he did it in many ways this weekend. He is very good off the catch-and-shoot, and his release is very fast. He also had some impressive finishes around the rim with his nice body control, one of which was a tough up-and-under around the defense.
Coryell Spates – 6’0” SG – Pike (INB Platinum Elite 2024)
Spates is an incredibly quick guard who excelled on the defensive end of the floor which led to his output on the offensive end. He uses his hands well and looks to jump passing lanes. He also runs the floor and always attacks the hole with aggression. Nice underrated weekend from Spates.
Christian Woodson Christian Woodson 5'10" | PG North Central | 2024 IN – 5’10” SG – North Central (EG10 2024)
Woodson is a tough little guard who plays with a ton of confidence. He looks to run and gun with the ball in his hands, and he had several strong takes to the rim including a nice finger roll to show off his finesse. Woodson also knocked down a couple of three balls on the weekend. He was a fun player to watch for sure.
