First Team Matas Castillo Matas Castillo 5'11" | PG Lemont | 2023 State IL , 6’1 PG 2023 Full Package Black (IL) Castillo was the flashiest point guard who really got the crowd energized with his flashy handle and acrobatic layups. Castillo also got his teammates, including his twin brother, involved with crisp passes. Castillo led his team to a perfect 4-0 record in group A. Cooper Farrall Cooper Farrall 6'6" | SF Culver Academy | 2023 State IN , 6’5 SF 2023 Team GRIII Elite (IN) Farrall was making it rain all weekend, going for around six 3’s in a half against INB Elite. I was also impressed with his athleticism in transition and finishing ability. Another impressive weekend for GRIII Elite at 3-1. Darrin Ames Darrin Ames 6'0" | PG Kenwood | 2023 State #51 Nation IL , 6’0 PG 2023 Mac Irvin Fire EYBL (IL) Ames is one of the quickest point guards in the nation and has been producing on the EYBL circuit this spring. Ames has a lot of qualities that coaches look for at the next level from their point guard with the ability to get to the paint and tough on-ball defense. Amari Allen Amari Allen 6'2" | PG Hamtramck | 2023 State MI , 6’3 SG 2023 CTM Elite (MI) Allen was one of the more impressive defensive players I watched all weekend. Allen’s defensive energy helped get CTM out in transition and that’s where Allen is best on offense. Allen had a couple impressive dunks and athletic layups that I saw, leading CTM Elite to a 4-0 weekend. Hutch Ward Hutch Ward 6'8" | PF Kalamazoo Central | 2023 State MI , 6’7 PF 2023 Michigan Cagers (MI) Ward was making it rain this weekend, going for 37 points in his game with CLP Elite. Ward was one of the best shooters at the entire event and when you combine that with his height, it allowed him to be very productive all weekend.
