Here, I take a look at the most explosive players that I watched over the weekend. These players were throwing down rim-rattling slams, elevating for thunderous blocks, and jumping out of the gym for every loose rebound.
Braylon Isom – DV 45
Isom is a very strong, powerful guard/forward who used his body to get inside and earn countless open layups at the rim. Finished through traffic well, and also popped up for 1-2 loud dunks per game. The 6-foot-2, 190-pound athlete caught a body in an intense matchup against OBC, sending the crowd into a frenzy.
Reis Butcher – Indy Nets 2024
Long, athletic guard/wing who elevated up for a tip-in slam. Swatted multiple shots in a game against a talented DV 45 squad. Threw down a tomahawk slam on the break. Really bouncy prospect who gets up to the rim effortlessly.
Julienn Clements – NEBC
Clements is a 6-foot-4 shooting guard who has the appearance of a young Jalen Green (Houston Rockets). Lanky wing who jumps up high on his outside shot attempts and protects the rim with his athleticism. He has a quickness to his game that allows him to create space on the outside and shake defenders easily.
Devonte Reed – NEBC
Reed has excellent physical tools –standing at 6-foot-4 with a 7-foot wingspan — as well as athleticism. Ran down the court like a gazelle and finished numerous slams above the rim throughout the weekend. Has a chance to become a dominant shot-blocking wing with his combination of length, quickness, and jumping ability.
Cam Brown – OBC
Brown is a patient wing who didn’t force any shots or any drives. Instead, he made all of the right decisions with the ball, and sometimes that meant driving in and taking off from outside the block and elevating up for a strong finish. Threw down multiple dunks and had some mean swats on the other end. Quiet player has great length and uses his springs to bounce up for blocks across the lane.
Zycheus Dobbs – ESF
At 6-foot-4, Dobbs was one of the strongest players in the event. He used his ripped frame to drive through traffic in multiple games and get to the rack at will. He’s a smart guard and has a solid handle, but played like a forward when in the paint. Protected the ball well and finished at the rim with nice touch.
Daelyn Jamison – Team Takeoff 2024
Jamison is a 5-foot-9 guard who swooped through the lane for numerous rebounds throughout his game against Mid Ohio Pumas . He’s a strong, quick, and bouncy guard who brought the energy from the tip and drove to the rim all game.
