Here, I break down the top outside shooters that I watched play at Fieldhouse USA all weekend.
Zander Woodruff Zander Woodruff 6'2" | CG Laingsburg | 2024 State MI – DV 45
Woodruff is a lanky lefty who was a threat from deep in each game I saw him play. Steps right into his three-point stroke and calmly releases his shot. He opened up DV’s game against OBC with 12 early points, starting 4-for-4 from three-point range and getting his team out to a quick lead. Sniper is always looking for his shot.
Dylan Hitchcock – Mid Ohio Pumas
Hitchcock showed off a sharp three-point shot all weekend, and hit from the mid range as well. The 6-foot shooting guard tucks his elbow in and fires his shots up with smooth back spin on each one. Also swung the ball efficiently around the wings. Caught fire in his game against Team Takeoff, hitting two threes and a few deep twos.
Yahir Hill – Ohio Basketball Club
was a consistent outside presence for a loaded OBC squad all weekend. He showed off nice driving ability and a solid handle as well, but the skill that stood out the most was his three-point stroke. He hit several threes against Hopson Elite, showing he was always ready to pull a quick trigger from the outside. Most, if not all of his deep shots, came off the catch. Nice two-guard.
Duncan Moffitt Duncan Moffitt 5'10" | PG Jackson Northwest | 2024 State MI – DV 45
Moffitt is a scrappy point guard who hit shots from outside throughout the weekend, especially excelling on three-point attempts. His DV 45 teammates seemed to all be solid shooters from deep, which opened up space for Moffitt at the point to pull up and shoot. Confident guard hit two threes in a blowout win over INB, and showed off a polished skill set by also grabbing two early steals and scoring his team’s first seven points.
Brayden Szamrej Brayden Szamrej 6'2" | PG Hudsonville | 2024 State MI – West Michigan Future
Szamrej had the best shooting performance of the weekend in a game on Sunday in which he hit seven threes and went for 34 points. He is as confident of a point guard as I watched all weekend, distributing the ball to all of his teammates and making seemingly all the right plays. Legitimate scoring threat each time down the floor hit threes from all over.
