In Part 4, we will look at more players that are making statements in the spring.
Joshua Backos (2024, SG, Greg Grant Basketball Club 2024, Bloomfield Christian)
If Backos continues his strong play from this spring, there will definitely be more eyes watching. He’s an efficient scorer that has shown flashes of a high level go-to scorer, but also plays very well off his teammates.
Jalen Ball (2025, SG, Dubuque County Basketball Academy 15u, Dubuque)
Ball looks like a prospect on the rise this spring. He’s using a strong lower body to establish position and be aggressive and bouncy under the rim. Ball is a natural leader as well.
Amarion Brownlee (2024, CG, Team Black Lives Matter 16u, South Lake)
Brownlee is a terrific all around athlete that moves very well on the court. He can attack the basket off the bounce where he shows some flare in his game.
Mekyael Hall Mekyael Hall 6'1" | PG Senior | 2025 State IA (2025, PG, Dubuque County Basketball Academy 15u, Dubuque)
Hall is a talented player that coaches and fans are going to want to see. He moves with a purpose without the ball, finding open spaces and open lanes. Hall has a feel for where his teammates are and has touch on his passes.
Andrew Kasat (2025, PG, Greg Grant Basketball Club 2024, Lutheran Northwest)
Kasat has been turning heads this spring. He’s an exciting young guard that has proven that he can put up points and do it bunches. Kasat has been a sharpshooter from behind the arc this spring.
Jackson Lieurance (2025, PG, Dubuque County Basketball Academy 15u, Cascade)
Lieurance is a steady lead guard with a laundry list of strengths. If a defender gives him too much space, he can bury a triple at any time. He’s a solid ball handler that doesn’t waste dribbles.
Jalen Mosley Jalen Mosley 6'1" | PG Roseville | 2024 State MI (2024, PG, Team Black Lives Matter 16u, South Lake)
Mosley is a good old fashioned grinder and has shown the toughness that college coaches are often looking for. He’s a leader that can set the table for his teammates as well as pick up a bucket when his team needs one.
Jacob Sheriff (2023, G, Tar Heels Elite 17u, Berkley)
Sheriff is making a name for himself on the defensive end of the floor. He has a nose for the ball and quick hands when applying pressure to the ball handler.
Karl Stevens Karl Stevens CG Richmond | 2023 State MI (2024, SG, Team Black Lives Matter 16u, Richmond)
Stevens is following a solid sophomore high school season with some tough grassroots play. He’s a bouncy guard that can score from almost any spot on the floor.
James Weaver James Weaver 5'10" | CG River Rouge | 2024 State MI (2024, PG, Downriver Bad Boys AAU NY2LA, River Rouge)
Weaver is so underrated in my opinion. I really believe that he’s an elite point guard in the class of 2024. He’s a playmaker that can break down a defense off the bounce, or even purely with his decision making.
Jacob White (2023, CG, Tar Heels Elite 17u, Detroit Renaissance)
White is a very versatile player on the perimeter. He’s shown this spring that he can play on or off the ball. White can attack the rim in transition as well as pull up and bury a triple off the catch.
Sincere Wiley Sincere Wiley C Summit Academy | 2023 State MI (2023, C, Tar Heels Elite 17u, Summit Academy)
Wiley is continuing to prove himself as a very intriguing post prospect. He can get out and run better than most young post players. Wiley is always a threat to block or alter a shot on defense.
Cameron Williams (2023, SG, Tar Heels Elite 17u, Redford Thurston)
Williams is a quick burst guard that is comfortable shooting from a variety of spots on the floor. He can lead in transition as well as fill in on a wing.
James Wright James Wright 6'3" | PF Summit Academy | 2023 State MI , 2023, PF, Tar Heels Elite 17u, Romulus Summit Academy)
Wright is a tough matchup. He’s long, a fantastic above the rim finisher, and a danger in the open floor. Wright has a ton of potential as an elite rim protector as well.
