Ahmari Samuel Ahmari Samuel 6'3" | CG Sumter | 2022 State SC – 6’3 Guard – Next Level Athletics SC
Samuel was the first standout unsigned senior that caught my eye at Carolina Crossover. He had a nice blend of handles and maneuverability that allowed him to create nice shots in the midrange and perimeter area. He did well to notice when smaller defenders were on him so he could simply raise up and make shots over them. His ability to keep the game simple was what stood out the most with him. He’s a sizeable combo guard worth a look by colleges of all levels.
Jabari Sumpter Jabari Sumpter 6'7" | PF Holly Hill Academy | 2022 State SC – 6’8 Forward/Center – Next Level Athletics SC
The biggest thing that stood out right away with Sumpter was his length and wingspan. He’s a prospect that’s every bit of 6-foot-8 while sporting an even broader wingspan that allowed him to be quite the presence in the frontcourt for Next Level Athletics SC. He’s got good upside as a rim-runner and finisher around the rim as well and as he improves his strength, he’s a name that should get more looks as the summer months wind down as an unsigned senior prospect.
Matthew Middleton – 6’3 Wing/Forward – Bama Elites
Middleton is an underrated prospect to know with Bama Elites 2023 group after an impressive showing at Carolina Crossover. The biggest thing that stood out for him was his motor. He was constantly moving on both ends of the floor and had a nose for the ball with his ability to battle in the paint for rebounds and finish strong around the paint. He’s got some versatility as will given he didn’t hesitate to step out on the perimeter and show off his shooting ability, either. He’s an unsigned senior prospect with a ton of potential as a utility guy.
Davin Butler – 6’1 Guard – Metro Elite Basketball Club 2023
Butler was an intriguing presence in the Metro Elite Basketball Club 2023 backcourt as they went 2-2 this past weekend at Carolina Crossover. He showed off an advanced ability to create off the bounce and find his openings as a downhill driver and shooter on the perimeter as a three-level operator on the floor. He looked to be aggressive at all times when the ball came his way and also look to get others involved with his ability to make clean passes. He’s a combo guard worth a look from colleges in need of a two-way impact guy.
