The Hustle Region Circuit consists of AAU Programs from California, Oregon, Washington, Arizona, Utah, Montana, Idaho, Colorado, and New Mexico. The circuit features 10 stops including the Hustle Region Final in Irvine July 15th – 17th. Stop 4 brings us to Phoenix Arizona for the Bash In the Desert. The event featured over 80 teams. It also featured several Floor Generals. In this article, we take a look at the top Point Guards from the event.
Aliou Diallo Aliou Diallo 6'0" | CG Colorado Prep | 2023 CO 5’8 PG Colorado Titans 2023 (featured image) – Plays the game with a terrific pace. Diallo was able to use an explosive burst to get by defenders and get into the lane. He’s a good layup maker, who despite his size, used angles to finish over and under defenders.
Triston Waters 5’11 PG Young Gifted Elite 2023 – Waters had a good upper body frame and played with a lot of explosiveness. He utilized the lost art of the mid-range game well, using one or two dribbles to get to his spot and rise up. He also displayed quality playmaking, getting into the lane to collapse the defense before dishing.
AJ Turner AJ Turner 5'11" | PG Skyline Prep | 2023 State AZ 6’0 PG Arizona Firestorm 2023 (#77PHA 2023) – Turner had a spectacular float dunk that caught my eye, He glided to the rim, looking as if he was going to lay the ball up, before turning it over. Turner was one of the fastest players I saw on the day, changing ends at breakneck speed before finishing at or over the rim. In addition to his float dunk, Turner caught a nasty body that brought the gym to its feet.
Lareon Ginnis Lareon Ginnis 5'9" | PG AZ Compass Prep | 2022 State AZ 5’9 PG Team RHJ 2022 – Ginnis is a player with big-time wiggle and speed. The PG looked as if he was going around cones, as he navigated traps in the game I watched. While his speed is his best skill, his toughness separates him from regular mortals as he routinely took contact before finishing at the basket.
Jerome Williams 5’10 PG Minnesota Spartans 2024 – Williams was one of the top jitterbug PGs at the event. He has major wiggle and buckled more than a couple knees in the game I watched. Williams was always using start and stops combined with a series of CODs constantly keeping defenders off balance.
Jesse Judkins Jesse Judkins 5'9" Shadow Ridge | 2025 State NV 5’9 PG Prominent Elite 2025 – Judkins told me he averaged 30 points per game as a JV player. I could see it. He has a nice offensive package with includes both the ability to shoot the ball as well as finish in transition. Judkins had a couple nice euro step finishes, leading to buckets in the open court.
