Tristan Morgan Tristan Morgan 5'9" | PG Hilliard Davidson | 2024 OH (2024) Mid Ohio Pumas -Mills (Hilliard Davidson)
Morgan caught my attention for the Pumas not for being a shooter, but for his focus on the defensive end. Morgan shifted on the defensive end the correct way; covering ground and anticipating shots and passes- while demonstrating a desire to get after guys while playing on defense. I like his toughness and this defensive focus.
Jesse Burris (2024) Mid Ohio Pumas -Gold (Delaware Hayes)
Burris played a heck of a game against the Ohio Rebels in pool play Saturday. The 6-foot-7 SG is dangerous with his size and patience with the ball. Doesn’t force shots or plays and lets the game come to him. Takes smart shots and can get hot from the perimeter relatively quickly. Burris has seen his stock rise over the last several months and is considered one of the state’s best prospects in the 2024 class.
Jekel Cotton (2025) All Ohio Select (Lima Senior)
Cotton might have had THE offensive performance of the tournament, scoring 41 points against Mid Ohio Pumas -English in bracket play Sunday. Cotton was making shots in a variety of ways and all over the perimeter. Knocked down some shots in catch-and-shoot as well as off the dribble. Cotton is only 6-foot-3, but he looks like he might grow a little more, which could make him fall more into a SF over the next few seasons.
Xzander Ream Xzander Ream 6'5" | SG Zane Trace | 2023 State OH (2023) Mid Ohio Pumas -Roberts (Zane Trace)
Ream impressed me as a catch-and-shoot guy on the offensive end. Confident with his shot and quick with the release and mechanics. Ream flies under the radar as he doesn’t have a ton of flash to his game. Rather he sneaks under the radar and can get you some quick buckets with his variety of offensive scoring.
Kyle Monterrubio Kyle Monterrubio 6'3" | SF Massillon Jackson | 2025 State OH (2025) Gurus to Go (Massillon Jackson)
Monterrubio was impressive in a losing effort for the Gurus against All Ohio Red, The lefty has good size for a 15U player and played with a lot of confidence with the ball in his hands. Finishing some tough shots against much bigger and more athletic competition. Collected in getting his shots up and knocked down enough shots to attract my attention.
