Focusing specifically on the Grit Region, these five prospects have really helped their recruitment and jumped onto the lists of countless college programs. Here are five of the biggest stock-risers in the 2023 class from the Grit Region.
Ahmere Carson Ahmere Carson 6'2" | PG Anderson | 2023 State IN (Anderson H.S. 2023/EG10 2023): In terms of pure scoring ability, there aren’t many guys like this 6’2″ guard. He uses his strength well to play through contact, has a sweet left-handed stroke, and plays with great pace when he has the ball in his hands. Can score it from anywhere on the floor. Plenty of college coaches eyes are on Carson.
Jake Fiegen Jake Fiegen 6'3" | SG New Trier | 2023 State IL (New Trier H.S. 2023/Full Package Black 2023): If you value shooting you must be recruiting this prospect. Fiegen has been a fixture on First Team All-Tournament selections throughout the Prep Hoops Circuit to this point. A truly elite shooter with good size that should continue to attract attention from college programs.
A.J. Lux A.J. Lux 6'3" | SG Crown Point | 2023 State IN (Crown Point H.S. 2023/Team GRIII Elite 2023): Division I coaches are circling in the waters for this 6’4″ elite shooter. Lux has put on an elite display from beyond the arc on the Prep Hoops Circuit to this point with multiple DI coaches following him during live periods. He’s a Division I player. Get on this shooter now.
Matthew Moore Matthew Moore 6'7" | PF Hillcrest | 2023 State IL (Hillcrest H.S. 2023/Chicago Lockdown 2023): Size, athleticism, good motor. This 6’8″ forward brings all of that to the table. Moore has rebounded outside of his area, finished above the rim, and has showcased his versatility on both ends throughout the Prep Hoops Circuit. New Orleans and Radford took notice by offering scholarships.
Hutch Ward Hutch Ward 6'8" | PF Kalamazoo Central | 2023 State MI (Kalamazoo Central H.S. 2023/Michigan Cagers 2023): Ward is coming off of a First Team All-Tournament Performance at Havoc at the Heartland in Indianapolis. The 6’8″ forward can shoot the basketball as a face-up guy and has the size to finish inside. A handful of small college offers have come his way after a great spring.
