No. 5 Jeremy Lorenz Jeremy Lorenz 6'8" | PF Brillion | 2023 State WI (Brillion/Phenom University)
Previous: 9
Not many movers in the top 10 when you get this late in the cycle, but think Lorenz has shown some positive growth during the Nike EYBL. He’s by no means arrived and is going to be somewhat of a project at the next level, but he’s the type of prospect who can make big jumps over a four-year period. The 6-foot-8 junior has some intriguing combo forward and mismatch nightmare ability. With time, he’s going to get stronger and more skilled. Lorenz shows a lot of slashes of being able to score in a lot of different ways. When those flashes turn into consistent play…watch out.
No. 23 Antwan Burns-Jones Antwan Burns-Jones 6'2" | SG Catholic Memorial | 2023 State WI (Catholic Memorial/MTXE Premier)
Burns-Jones was extremely good at the Spiece Run N’ Slam. Probably a good case that no Wisconsin prospect had a better weekend than him in Fort Wayne. An attacking perimeter threat with combo guard skills, Burns-Jones has a unique combo of break-you-down ability off the bounce with a point guard’s feel when he gets two feet in the paint. The 6-foot-3 junior is electric with the ball in his hands, has a lightning-quick first-step, and two-way ability as a plus perimeter defender.
No. 31 Marcus Hall Marcus Hall 6'5" | SF D.C. Everest | 2023 State WI (D.C. Everest/ Wisconsin Swing )
Previous: 45
Still haven’t been able to see a lot of Hall, but tired of having him significantly lower than we should. Hillsdale, Mary, and Minnesota-Duluth have all offered Hall this spring. The D.C. Everest product has excellent positional size at 6-foot-6 and put up huge numbers as a junior. Originally, thought he was more of a shooter, but Hall is proving to be an all-around player who can stuff the stat sheet. Wouldn’t be surprised if he finishes even higher when the rankings get updated again after the summer.
No. 45 Peter Lattos Peter Lattos 6'5" | SF West Salem | 2023 State WI – SF – Team FVV
Previous NR
Lattos jumped onto the scene at the Division 3 state tournament. A skilled, sweet-shooting wing, Lattos appears to be in the ballpark of a scholarship recruit. The West Salem standout as terrific size at 6-foot-7 and a killer instinct as a scorer. Sneaky good athlete as well who can play above the rim defensively. Big, strong kid who can beat defenders with finesse or power.
No. 48 Brogan McIntyre Brogan McIntyre 6'5" | SF Milton | 2023 State WI (Milton/Wisconsin Playground Club)
McIntyre has moved up in weight class on the AAU circuit and held his own. The Milton wing has gotten better as the summer wore on and has done a lot of positive things in the UA Next circuit. Don’t think McIntyre is quite done climbing this list either. A big time leaper, McIntyre is a poster waiting to happen. He’s shooting the ball better from 3-point range and always give his team dirty work, effort plays. Think there’s a lot of value at the next level with a kid like McIntyre, who can help a team and make his presence felt even if he’s not scoring.
No. 60 Austin Villareal Austin Villareal 6'1" | SG Arrowhead | 2023 State WI (Arrowhead/The Pro Lane Team Herro)
Previous 71
Just appreciate these types of prospects. Villareal will be overlooked every time he steps on the floor because of his height, but he’s another one of those small guards that gets the most out of his talent. The Arrowhead standout is a highly skilled guard that can still score over size and athleticism. He’s a shot maker that can create positive things off the bounce and consistently get into high percentage areas.
No. 69 AJ Uttech AJ Uttech 6'2" | PG Columbus | 2023 State WI (Columbus/Wisconsin Academy)
Previous: NR
Uttech has had a breakout spring on the Prep Hoops Circuit. A strong, skilled, downhill guard, Uttech has a little bulldog in him. The Columbus standout has an aggressive mindset with no off-switch. His foot is on the gas pedal all game long. Like him at the point, but Uttech has can play off the ball as well. Uttech is very crafty and smart when he gets into the paint. The 6-foot-2 guard has excellent footwork to get out of traffic and also finishes against contact or off-balance.
