2023 Rankings are Updated
After a busy April grassroots season, it’s time to update the 2023 rankings. Click here to view the 158 player list. This class has been busy at the top with four of the top seven prospects already committed to big time programs. Devin Royal Devin Royal 6'6" | PF Pickerington Central | 2023 State #49 Nation OH takes the top spot after winning a state title with Pickerington Central and putting up big time numbers in the EYBL. Dailyn Swain Dailyn Swain 6'7" | SF Africentric | 2023 State #81 Nation OH goes to number two, Swain hasn’t been as productive on the EYBL circuit but his upside is still huge considering his young age and potential outside shooting improvement.
At three and four are Midwest Basketball Club teammates Rayvon Griffith Rayvon Griffith 6'6" | SF AZ Compass Prep | 2023 State #78 Nation AZ and Gabe Cupps Gabe Cupps 6'1" | PG Centerville | 2023 State #80 Nation OH . Griffith committed to Cincinnati yesterday, picking the hometown Bearcats over a host of high major programs. Griffith has improved his outside shooting and his motor combined with his athleticism makes him a terror in transition. Cupps has had another solid grassroots season playing the guard spot next to Kentucky bound Reed Sheppard. Cupps is a polished point guard who will be a fan favorite in Bloomington with his toughness and steady play.
Ohio State commit Austin Parks Austin Parks 6'9" | C St. Mary's Memorial | 2023 State #166 Nation OH is at number five, Parks was a highly sought-after recruit by Midwest programs and ended his recruitment early. Parks has good size at 6’9, 6’10 and is a physical presence at the rim. At number six is Lawrent Rice Lawrent Rice 6'4" | PG Huber Heights Wayne | 2023 State #184 Nation OH who improved his outside shooting during the high school season with Huber Heights Wayne and is down to a final eight programs. Finally, Marlon Barnes Jr. Marlon Barnes Jr. 6'6" | SF Brush | 2023 State #161 Nation OH jumps up to number seven. Barnes has shooting range to the parking lot and length to potentially be an impact defender at the next level.
