The Prep Hoops Oklahoma State tourney tipped off across the OKC area this weekend and all of the 17U action was at the Solid Rock facility in Edmond. Prep Hoops had multiple guys at Solid Rock to check out the 17U division and see some of their top standouts from several different states. In this post, we feature four Oklahomans and one 30-point performer from Colorado.
Cole Allen Cole Allen 6'5" | SG McAlester | 2023 State OK – 2023 Forward – Pittsburg (Built Different By ProSkills)
It seems like every time we see Built Different at a Prep Hoops event, 2023 forward Cole Allen Cole Allen 6'5" | SG McAlester | 2023 State OK from Pittsburg is a top standout. Allen showcased his skills throughout the afternoon and into the evening and was one of the top scorers in the 17U division on Saturday. Allen is one of the better small town prospects in Oklahoma’s 2023 class and it was on display on Saturday. Allen had a nice mix of shooting with playmaking ability and was incredibly tough for opponents to slow down.
Daundre Samuel – 2023 Forward – Denver East (5280 Athletics)
The Colorado program 5280 Athletics had a great Saturday in Edmond with multiple games where different players went off. But arguably the best performance came on Saturday evening as 2023 forward Daundre Samuel went for 30 points. It’s impressive to see a program that had multiple kids go for 25+ points in different games but it was Samuel that tallied 30 points and impressed plenty of people at the Solid Rock facility in Edmond.
DJ Dill – 2024 Guard – Caddo (H&H Elite)
It was great to see H&H Elite adding a potential star in the making in the 2024 class with Caddo guard DJ Dill. We first saw Dill during the state tournament and it was apparent that he was one of the better guards in the 2024 class that not enough people know about. He was able to showcase that on Saturday and was an absolute game changer. In the first game that I got a chance to watch, Dill dropped 26 points and scored 22 in the second half alone. Dill has an unbelievable ability to get to the rim at will against any defender, including multiple defenders at times. The combination of speed, explosiveness and also touch makes Dill so tough to guard on the court.
Levi Peck – 2024 Forward – Edmond Memorial (H&H Elite)
In addition to Dill standing out, H&H Elite had a few other prospects that looked good on Saturday. One of the more consistent players for that team this offseason has been Edmond Memorial’s Levi Peck, a 2024 forward that has been a glue guy for H&H Elite during their run on the Prep Hoops Circuit. Peck has been a very reliable player in the paint for H&H Elite and while he might be an undersized forward as a prospect, he’s more than capable of having a big impact on the high school level and has continued to get better during this offseason.
