I was able to attend the event on Saturday April, 16 and I focused on the California teams. Here’s a quick look at some of the standouts I saw.
1. Kai Bradley – North Torrance 2024
Bradley is a player I first saw back at the Price Fall League in October. He’s going to be a good starting level point guard at the high school level. He is a good ball-handler who pushes the pace in transition. Keeps his head up while dribbling on the break and kicks the ball ahead to teammates. He can go coast to coast down court and finish. Very quick off the dribble. He’s also a good defender on ball.
2. Mansour Sanneh – Palmdale 2024
Sanneh stood out as a good scoring wing. He can create shots off the dribble and he can get into the paint and kick the ball out to open teammates. He can also put pressure on the defense attacking the rim and he can finish strong through contact. Good body control and crafty finisher at the rim. In the halfcourt. he hits defenders with a little crossover to create space to get his shot off.
3. Bishop Brooks – Village Christian 2024
Brooks is another good scoring wing. He can handle the ball and bring it up court. He’s a good shooter from three-point range and can knock down pull-up threes once he crosses halfcourt. Comfortable creating his own shot in halfcourt ISO situations. He looks slight but he’s a strong guard who is able to finish through contact at the rim. He’s also a good rebounder for a guard who flies in for offensive rebounds.
4. Niccolo Kalischer-Stork – Harvard Westlake 2024
Kalischer-Stork stood out as a good shooting wing. He can knock it down from three-point range and he uses fakes to get defenders in the air when they close out on him at the arc. He can handle the ball in transition and he has good vision/playmaking while on the break. He’s able to drive baseline and find open teammates around the rim. He can also attack off the dribble and get scoring opportunities for himself.
