Williams is easily an under the radar prospect at this moment, posing as a do it all floor general. Standing at 5’11, the point guard has been dangerous as a pull-up shooter all the way out of the three point line. He uses his shooting gravity incredibly well, where he is incredible playmaking in the pick and roll. What makes Williams so dependable as a lead guard has been his ability to change speeds and control the pace, a skill necessary for points. On multiple occasions, Williams used a crossover to create a pullup jumper or force the defense out of position to create a scoring opportunity for his team. The point guard was easily one of the most well rounded lead guards at this tournament and should garner offers in the coming months.
Noah Williams – Mighty Kings – 2022
Williams served as one of the more versatile wing prospects at the tournament, capable guarding most forwards and some bigger guards. Standing at 6’6, Williams was a knockdown shooter from the corners and wings, where his range and high release should allow him to slide right into the collegiate level. Versatility on defense is the biggest key for Williams, where he had to guard opposing centers up to 6’9. He has the strength to bang with bigger bodies while having the foot speed to slide onto the perimeter against opposing forwards.
Vaughn Loud – Athletic Elite – 2022
Loud was constantly attacking the glass a 6’4 glue guy on both ends. Thanks to his positional size, he was capable scoring inside while finding open teammates out of the mid-post. The pick and roll is an area Loud excels at, thanks to his understanding of using space paired with the phenomenal touch with both hands. Defensively, Loud slides his feet well and will likely serve as a legitimate switchable body.
Matthew Mortensen – Top Achievers – 2022
Mortensen keyed in on his shooting ability this tournament, hitting a number of influential shots down the stretch for Top Achievers. At 6’4, he is positionally versatile as a floor spacer who does not lack confidence. Another aspect of Mortensen’s offense was his attention to details, by attacking closeouts and making the right decision in the paint. Although the two-guard was not given a dominant offensive role, he maximized his opportunities.
Donovan Alexander – Athletic Elite – 2022
One a most aggressive full-court athletes from the weekend, Alexander was seemingly everywhere on the break. Effort is the key for Alexander, who picks up opponents 94 feet out and makes it a priority to disrupt to the opposition through his on-ball defense. Going the other way, Alexander sped past whole teams on multiple occasions, where he was capable finishing with crafty reverse finishes at full speed. Getting downhill is Alexander’s bread and butter, where gets to the rack with ease while drawing fouls. ADD HEIGHT
