A number of these players are still playing AAU basketball to showcase themselves during the two live periods in the month of April. Here’s a look at the top forwards and posts in the state that are still available to sign.
Devon Malcolm Devon Malcolm 6'4" | SF South Medford | 2022 State OR (2022 South Medford) – Ranked #5
Malcolm is the top-ranked player in the state at any position that remains unsigned. The athletic 6-foot-4 forward has been suiting up for the Oakland Soldiers this spring on the EYBL circuit and has certainly compiled some high-flying highlights. He showed this year his game is more than just dunking and became well-schooled in doing the little things like going after loose balls and taking charges. Malcolm, who averaged 15.0 points, 8.9 rebounds, and 2.1 blocks while shooting over 60 percent from the field, has JC offers but is looking for a four-year opportunity on scholarship.
Donatello Tupper Donatello Tupper 6'4" | SF Roosevelt | 2022 State OR (2022 Roosevelt) – Ranked #6
Arugably the second-best finisher at the rim in the senior class to Malcolm – and not second by much – Tupper parlayed a solid senior year into a spot on Team Oregon for the WAVOR all-star game. The 6-foot-4 lefty was devastating in transition and was able to prove that he can hit the open three in addition to throwing it down at the rim. Junior college appears to be the route for Tupper, who has been in discussion with coaches at both the NWAC and NJCAA levels. He averaged 12.9 points and 4.4 rebounds this past year.
Dallon Morgan Dallon Morgan 6'9" | PF Sprague | 2022 State OR (2022 Sprague) – Ranked #7
Morgan was arguably the best big man in the state and while he certainly did damage down low, it’s the perimeter shooting ability of the 6-foot-9 senior that has made him intriguing. He knocked down 2.75 threes per game, ranking in the Top 10 in all of 6A, and did so at a 37.7 percent clip. Overall his averages of 22.3 points and 10.0 rebounds also ranked him in the top five in each category in the state. Morgan continues to stay locked in on his offer from Montana State and is hoping to make an official visit to campus soon.
Chaz Storm Chaz Storm 6'6" | PF Santiam | 2022 State OR (2022 Western Christian) – Ranked #33
Storm transferred over to Western Christian from Santiam and all he did was help lead his new school to the 2A title. The 6-foot-7 forward has one of the smoothest strokes in the state at any classification, has deep range, and has the ability to really get hot from three-point range. He showed some diversity with his game at the state tournament, getting more baskets inside the three-point range and also showing some effectiveness as a rebounder and shot-blocker.
Tane Prictor Tane Prictor 6'10" | C Mountain View | 2022 State OR (2022 Mountain View) – Ranked #67
Clearly the top big man left on the board is Prictor, who has improved upon his mobility, durability, and stamina as a senior. The 6-foot-10 center simply cannot be stopped when he gets the basketball and might have led the state in dunks. While his bread and butter is near the hoop, he did show the ability to hit mid-range jumpers when left open. Prictor averaged 14.7 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 2.1 blocks while shooting 60 percent from the field and is getting looks from D-II and JC programs.
