AJ Lux (Team GRIII 17U)
Lux came out on Fire in their first game of the event. Long and rangy 6’5” two guard with a projectable frame. Can really shoot the basketball with a free and easy release from distance. He moves well without the ball and is a plus athlete with upside! D1 prospect for sure.
Da’Shon Fisher (Iowa Barnstormers 17U)
Fisher was the most productive player for the Barnstormers 17U in the game we saw. Thick bodied powerful small forward that flew in for rebounds and dunks. He had several thunderous slams trying to give his team some momentum. In addition to his power game above the rim it was his stop and pop ability from 15 feet where he consistently flicked his wrist for two points.
Jake Fiegen (Full Package 17U)
Fiegen did what he does. Make shots. I texted a college coach watching he is one of the 10 best shooters I’ve ever covered. Then he hit four in a row. He moves so well without the ball and has a lightning quick release. Competing on the defensive end more and can hold defenses accountable if they close too hard.
Babatunde “Tunde” Durodola (Canada Elite 15U)
Maybe the best long term prospect I saw all weekend. This 6’7” small forward from Canada was playing up on the 16U level with his 2025 UAA team. What first caught our attention was his elite defensive capabilities. Defended all over the floor moving his feet, blocking shots, and getting into his man. Offensively he has long strides getting to the rim making regular trips to the charity stripe. Finished inside and rebounded well in traffic. Showed a clean looking shot on a corner three. No doubt high-major early in the process.
Damani Barley (NEBC 17U)
Barley is a long and rangy small forward that can score off the bounce. He lived in the paint with slick takes for runners along with using his second jump on the offensive glass for put backs. Changes gears and is a really good transition player.
Levi Birkholz (Wisconsin Crusaders 17U)
Birkholz is a two guard that can really score it. Crisp movements across the board being able to shoot it off catch while moving. Also did a nice job of using his strong frame to finish in the paint through contact at the rim. Nice first step blowing past defender.
Bryce Heard (Mac Irvin Fire 15U)
Heard is among the premier young prospects in Illinois and that showed on Saturday in the two games we caught. Projectable and fluid scorer that knocked in a trio from distance in the first game while also doing major damage in transition with an array of dunks. High-major wing that can really go!
Caden Wilkins (Iowa Barnstormers 16U)
Wilkins looked every bit of the hype we had heard about him. The high-major trending 2024 small forward was so crisp and precise with all his movements. Put it on the deck with strength where he would finish well through contact. Plus shooter from three that also pounds the offensive glass for second chance points. Liked how he competed on the defensive end as well.
Acie Earl (Iowa Barnstormers 16U)
Earl complimented Wilkins perfectly on the wing. Slick scorer with a big time three level scoring game. Hit three triples in the game we caught and scored inside with hook shots when posting up and reverse layups playing in the open floor. Loved his effortless feel for the game.
Anquan Boldin (Ball4Lyfe 17U)
Boldin is a powerful and athletic wing that was impactful on both ends of the floor. He had one of the best dunks of the weekend on a rip that he took baseline before throwing down a nasty slam. Consistently got downhill for scores. So aggressive attacking the offensive boards for second chance points. Defensively he was impactful checking opponents on the perimeter and skying for LBJ blocks.
Bryce Coleman (Illinois Stars 17U)
This was the best we have seen Coleman play in quite some time. He has excellent size on the perimeter for a wing. Played bully ball at times using his strong frame to overpower smaller and weaker defenders for scores in the paint on drives and post ups. His feathery mid-range game was on point as he hit an array of them creating with crisp one or two dribble pull ups over and over. Rebounds well for his position and we saw some growth as a defender as well.
Kohen Rowbatham (Fifa Elite 17U)
Strong bodied wing that is a 2024 prospect playing up on the 17U level that made an impact for his Louisiana squad. He can really shoot it from distance as he drained an array of threes while also mixing in powerful drives to the rim. Pure bucket getter!
