Myles Barnette 6’1 PG Wayzata High School/Minnesota Heat PVR 2023
Myles Barnette stood out as his team took on a tough Team 1848. Barnette showed he physically matches up with any guard his size, sliding well and keeping opposing guards out of the lane. What impressed me was how Barnette took over the game for his squad down the stretch. He ran the pick and roll at a level that would impress college coaches at every level, making the right reads and controlling the flow of his offense.
Aidan Higgins 6’2 SG De La Salle High School/Minnesota Heat PVR 2023
Friday night, Barnette’s running mate made big plays with every opportunity. Down the stretch, he was tasked with guarding the opposing team’s best player and limited him after he had a terrific game. Aidan hit big shots and what impressed me most was how clear it was that all Higgins wanted to do was win. Watching him miss a three, follow his shot, rebound it, and put it in to put his team back up double digits was my play of the game.
AJ Lieuwen 6’0 PG Bay Port High School/Team 1848 2023
Anthony AJ Lieuwen was the sole reason his team did not lose by double digits. AJ was as close to perfect as it gets with his ability to get into the lane at will while also leading his team out of their first-half shooting slump. He was a coach’s dream all game at the point guard position, and he ended with a double-double with points and assist in a loss Friday night.
Rmoni Beals 6’1 PG Zion Benton/Kessel Heat 2025
Rmoni showed real maturity as a freshman on Friday, his team lost, but Rmoni was the best player on the floor. He got to his spots and scored when needed, rebounded, and was able to facilitate after getting into the for his teammates. Not many his age can show maturity during or after a game; he picked his teammates up and attempted to motivate them during games.
Darel Reece 6’2 SG The Woodlands College Park High School/Texas Takeover 2023
Darel showed his ability to score at will at certain times of the game. It was like he could flip a switch and get a bucket whenever he pleased. The lefty was very smooth getting into the lane but also knocked down shots at a consistent rate. The kid is impressed, and if he gets going, there aren’t many defenders who could slow him down.
