The Hustle Region Circuit consists of AAU Programs from California, Oregon, Washington, Arizona, Utah, Montana, Idaho, Colorado, and New Mexico. The circuit features 10 stops including the Hustle Region Final in Irvine July 15th – 17th. Stop number 2 took place in Denver, Colorado with the Spring Kick-Off. The event featured nearly 100 programs ranging from age 15U – to 17U. The event also featured some players with some big-time driving ability. In this article, we take a look at the top Slashers from the event.
Cam Pritchard 6’1 SG Colorado Premiere 2025 – Pritchard was able to get by defenders with ease. He was efficient with the bounce, using three dribbles or less to get to the rim. He’s your prototypical slasher who’s looking to use his strong hand to get all the way to the rack in transition.
Jonathan Alston 6’4 SG Team Daum 2023 – Alston makes the list not only because of his fearlessness in attacking the bucket but because of his finishing ability. He had some wild finishes in the game I saw, displaying the ability to play in conflict while keeping his eyes on the rim
Evan Gomez 6’2 SG Hardwood Evolution 2023 – Gomez was a difficult cover because of his ability to shoot the ball. His shot-making forced defenders to close, allowing him to drive hard to the basket. His best skill may have been his ability to complete plays from awkward angles. He had a couple high degree of difficulty finishes in the game I watched.
Elijah Cain Jr 6’2 SG BDH Elite 2023 – ECJ was one of the top downhill drivers I saw. He has a good frame and was willing to not only go around defenders but through them as well. He has a good combination of power and agility, as he showed the ability to avoid defenders with some nice Euros on his way to the basket.
Radek Homer Radek Homer 6'0" | SG Mountain Vista | 2023 State CO 6’0 PG Elevation Flyers 2023 (#74PHC 2023) – Homer used a good handle and some shiftiness to get to the hole. He had a good right to left COD, and used it to create space for his finishing package. Homer was good around the rim with both hands, showing the ability to finish through contact as well as neutralize the shot blocker by shielding him with his body.
Cody Michaelson 6’4 SF Colorado Anarchy 2023 – Michaelson was a straight-line driver, that attacked the rim hard. A downhill attacker, Michaelson was able to get by on two dribbles or less and was best when going to his strong hand.
