Cole Hansen Cole Hansen 6'4" | SG Legacy Early College | 2024 State SC – 2024 – SG – Wisconsin Playground Club
Hansen poured in a game-high 22 points as PGC rolled past Ohio Buckets. The Tosa West standout shot it well from deep, connecting on three triples. He combined that with some tough finishes at the rim. Despite not getting a foul, Hansen was able to power through contact on a few occasions. Nothing overly flashy about what Hansen does. He’s a pretty fundamentally sound scorer for the most part that takes what the defense gives him. While he came up as more of a sniper/isolation scorer, Hansen is showing he can now operate in the pick n’ roll and be more of a primary decision maker offensively.
Jaquan Johnson Jaquan Johnson 5'10" | PG Pius XI | 2024 State WI – 2024 – PG – Wisconsin Playground Club
Controlling the game from start to finish, Johnson led PGC to a dominant win over Ohio Buckets. The Pius XI star did pretty much whatever he wanted as a scorer and a facilitator. Johnson just has this confidence that he’s the best player on the floor every time he steps on it. A ball dominant lead guard, when Johnson has possession, good things usually happen. Able to take over a game offensively, Johnson pushes the tempo and can make decisions at top end speed. He’s a dynamic scorer with excellent body control to finish at the rim. A flashy passer, Johnson can thread the needle and hit defenses with no-look dimes. Defensively, he has excellent anticipation. Might gamble too much, but those gambles do pay off at a very impressive rate.
Bennett McCormick Bennett McCormick 6'3" | SG Catholic Memorial | 2023 State WI – 2023 – SG – MTXE Premier
McCormick had a game-high 20 points in a loss to Grand Park Premier. There were stretches where McCormick was getting to the rim whenever he wanted. The 6-foot-3 wing has always been one of the best slashers in his class. McCormick has a very quick first step. Also a standout football player, McCormick is a long strider that can cover a lot of ground before the help side defense can react. McCormick can finish with either hand and also split multiple defenders en route to the cup. As the defense started to adjust, so did McCormick. With multiple bodies starting to flood the paint, McCormick dished the ball out nicely for some open 3’s.
Braden Mcglothlin Braden Mcglothlin 6'0" | PG Catholic Memorial | 2023 State WI – 2023 – G – MTXE Premier
McGlothlin was terrific down the stretch, despite a close loss to Grand Park Premier. The Catholic Memorial standout scored all 11 of his points down the stretch, including a 3-pointer than momentarily tied the game with under a minute left. McGlothlin hit three triples during that span and also drew a foul that got his team into the bonus. His floor leadership was also on full display. After Grant Park appeared to be pulling away, McGlothlin kept encouraging his teammates and willing them to stops on the defensive end of the floor.
Asa Thomas Asa Thomas 6'6" | SF Lake Forest | 2023 State #91 Nation IL – 2023 – SF – Illinois Wolves
Looked like his coach wanted to send Thomas a message early in the game after the Wolves fell behind against Kyle Guy Elite. Message received. After getting yanked, Thomas came back with 10 quick points in the first half and also made some impact plays defensively with a block and a steal that led to a transition bucket. The 6-foot-6 junior finished with 17 points in the win. A versatile, sweet-shooting wing/forward, Thomas is one of the top snipers in the country. He also has some serious defensive versatility at the next level that has high major programs across the Midwest lining up. Thomas shows flashes of being a big mismatch problem as well, taking defenders off the bounce and occasionally setting up shop on the block and going to work with his back to the basket.
Travis Perry Travis Perry 6'2" | PG Lyon County | 2024 State #115 Nation KY – 2024 – G – Indiana Elite
Perry dominated from start to finish in a blowout win over Chicago Lockdown. Might be a little undersized for what he is, but Perry shows terrific ability on and off the ball. Perry is a sniper you can run off screens and was virtually automatic from downtown. On the ball, he burned defenders who dared to go under screens. Playing with outstanding floor vision as well, Perry dished out assists in both transition and the halfcourt. He was able to thread the needle at times and does a great job of manipulating defenders with his eyes. Also easy to appreciate the hustle and heart Perry plays with. No matter the scorer, Perry showed no off switch.
