Grant Fridley (Illinois Bears 17U)
This McKendree commit from Trenton Wesclin High School impacted their win over Gateway without hardly scoring. It was his wizardry as a passer setting up his teammates that caught our eye. He can really dish it in both transition and half court making those around him better putting them in positions to succeed. Excellent D2 prospect!
Christian Hughes (Gateway Knights 17U)
On the other side of that PG battle was this St. Louis guard. Scrappy lead guard with a strong body. Got to the line at a nice rate and was an adequate pull up shooter from three point range. Could definitely see a D2 taking a shot at him!
Blaise Porter (Iowa Barnstormers 17U)
Porter is a blur with the rock in his hands. He put defenders in spin cycle breaking them down and finishing with acrobatic layups at the rim. Changes gears with such fluidity and has burst getting downhill. Converts through and around contact in the lane. Shifty handles set everything up for him! D1 prospect.
Dajon Burton (Middlesex Magic 17U)
Burton caught our attention with a strong performance on Friday night. Combo guard that is creative with the rock in his hands that can also take it to the hoop on slick straight line takes. Bit up and down as a shooter in the game we saw, but shoots a good ball.
Donavan Gomez (Arnold Elite 17U)
Gomez impressed us on the second day with his sharp shooting from his point guard spot. Drained an array of threes both off the catch and pulling up. Shot it with a ton of confidence each time it left his hands. The Texas guard should get a ton of love at the small college level.
JP Schilling (Quad City Shockers 17U)
Schilling elevated his stock with a strong performance against Arnold Elite. The Sterling High School guard is a scoring combo that is a scrappy defender who shot it well from distance hitting several threes along with a few mid-range jumpers. Played with a lot of confidence and swagger. Projects as a high-end small college prospect!
Ahmere Carson (EG10 17U)
Carson is a thick bodied combo guard that has put up monster numbers this spring on the PHC. His team struggled against Full Package, but he did his part in the second half to try to bring them back. Finished through contact at the rim with his strength and shoots it very well from three with his quick lefty release with not much elevation. Low-majors need to invest some time here in this bucket getter!
Matthew Eng (Pentagon Schoolers 17U)
Eng was the primary reason the Schoolers scored a win against Hoops 4 Health and had a strong weekend all-around. Gritty lead guard that was dynamic as a perimeter shot maker hitting five of them while also doing a nice job of making passes on the move. Could see a D2 get involved here.
Dylan Omweno (Minnesota Select 17U)
Combo guard from Minnesota Select who has nice projectability with his length and frame. Smooth creator that loved to get in the mid-range for his jumper. Smooth form and such an effortless game.
Anthony Doppler (North Dakota Phenom 17U)
Doppler impressed in Indy and did it again at PH Live. Shot making lead guard that did a lot of his damage against the Illinois Stars attacking downhill for and-ones and layups on back cuts. Like him at the D2 level.
Chris Carpenter (OWE 17U)
This back up point guard exploded for a monster game for OWE. Lefty that has quickness off the bounce and shook his defenders for several scores with nifty conversions in the paint. Spark plug type guard for OWE.
