GREAT GUARDS
Jenner Smude Jenner Smude 6'4" | SG Century | 2025 State ND |6’3 SG| ND Phenom 2025
He had a nice weekend for his first AAU tourney this spring. Smude is a shot maker and he will only continue to improve as he adds total body strength. I watched Jenner in the season and he shot it well. He showed that same smooth shooting stroke on Sunday. Smude is a serious shooter in the catch-n-shoot game. His length allows him to get his shot off over smaller defenders and he has a quick trigger. On defense, Jenner blocked shots and contested. Smude showed great touch and timing on a lob pass. Jenner is a very nice player and he is on his way to being a scary offensive player.
Luke Jacobson Luke Jacobson 6'1" | SG Cretin-Derham Hall | 2023 State MN |6-1 G| Northstar Titans 2023 Terhaar
He helped his squad to a 4-0 weekend. Jacobson averaged 15 points a game and he led the Titans in assists. Luke is very good at creating his own shot and he is a reliable scorer. He has come a long way in creating for others. Everyone wants a guard that can score and set up others! Luke is also smart when reading the defense and he thrives at creating turnovers.
Cole Armitage Cole Armitage 6'1" | CG Mahtomedi | 2023 State MN |6-1 G| Northstar Titans 2023 Terhaar
He helped his squad to a 4-0 weekend. Armitage put up 13 points a game this past weekend. He really shined in up-tempo situations and Cole was at his best when attacking in transition. He showed great concentration by scoring tough contested layups and by knocking down open three-pointers. Armitage has a long wingspan, this allows him the flexibility to guard taller guards and wings.
Blaise Porter Blaise Porter 6'1" | PG New London | 2023 State #298 Nation IA |6-0 PG| Iowa Barnstormers 2023 Gold
He is a special athlete that is explosive and he can get up and wham it with impressive hops. His handles and court vision are next-level, there is a reason why this lead guard is getting major attention from so many college coaches. His timely playmaking and heady decision-making are top-notch. Blaise is also a tough on-ball defender. Porter proved that he easily was one of the top floor generals at Prep Hoops Live. He currently has multiple Division 1 offers!
Kaden Van Regenmorter Kaden Van Regenmorter 6'3" | SF Hull, Western Christian | 2025 State IA |6’3 SG| Arena Basketball Club 2025-1 Snyder
He was by far one of the best 2025 players that I watched. Kaden is a very good athlete that is extra-strong for his young age. He was deadly going to the cup for buckets. He was fabulous finishing in transition he showed a sensational pull-up baseline jumper. Van Regenmorter is a reliable FT-shooter that got to the line often. He also had multiple good-looking assists. Kaden appears to be a must-see prospect.
Xavier Sulaiman Xavier Sulaiman 6'3" | SG Oak Lawn | 2023 State IL |6’3 SG| Hoops 4 Health 2023
He stood out as a big-time playmaker. Xavier is a bucket machine that produced when his team needed it. He looked great slashing to the paint with his special athleticism. Sulaiman showed fancy footwork when scoring at the basket. Xavier can also finish through contact. He cashed in many triples throughout the weekend. I like his all-around aggressive offensive game.
Corbin Garver |6’4 SG| 24MB Team Daum 2023
This Colorado kid was a big standout in the game that I watched. He is a long athlete and he got up for an impressive breakaway dunk. On defense he blocked shots, Corbin plays much bigger than his 6’4 height. This hard worker scored on O-board putbacks. Corbin looked like a smooth and confident 3-shooter and he hit multiple. He showed his strong finishing skills late in the 2nd half with an AND1 when his team really needed it. Garvin was not just scoring, he drove, got in the lane, and kicked to open shooters. He is a crafty and athletic player!
JP Schilling |6-0 PG| Quad City Shockers 2023
He was one of my favorite guards from Prep Hoops Live. Schilling is so shifty, and he changes speeds to keep players off-balance like a wily veteran. His ball-handling was as good as I saw. JP put up a large number of points but he also dropped dimes and assists. He scored in transition, with pull-ups, and when knifing through the defense. Get JP on your watchlist!
Jase Whiteman |6’1 SG| Quad City Shockers 2023
He made this list because he is a cold-blooded three-point assassin. Whiteman hit several triples (6 or 7) in the game that I watched. He can fill-it-up! Jase showed excellent footwork and fundamentals. His shooting form is effortless and consistent. Whiteman moves without the ball and does not force shots. It was a great shooting performance from Jase!
Mandalla Mohamed Mandalla Mohamed 6'2" | SG Sioux Falls Washington | 2023 State SD |6-2 SG| Pentagon Schoolers 2023 Walker
He is an all-around athlete that was constantly making basketball plays when I watched him play two games. Mandalla is a very good on-ball defender. He is also a picket-pocket that creates TO’s. I was impressed with his smooth left-handed finish at the cup where he avoided the defense with excellent body control. Mohamed can score but he was really great at penetrating and dropping dimes. He showed a beautiful underhand dish that led to an easy Schooler bucket. Mandalla and the Schoolers had an excellent weekend at PH Live!
